I think he won't get quite that, but he could get close.  A four-year deal with raises would average about $18 million if he started at $16.8 million.  That's a little over 1/6 of this year's cap, and the following three years would be around 1/7 of the cap.  Not unreasonable that a #3 or #4 option would be at that cap number.

$18M per year??  I mean the "near-lock" report suggested the Knicks were going to seriously overpay, but unless that's for one season that's a crazy figure.  Knowing the Knicks it'll be for 4.

That could be really good for us with tying up OKC's salary, especially with their Horford pursuit. I don't understand why they kept him as a restricted free agent anyways with Oladipo.

surprisingly clever from Sacremento to force OKCs hand knowing they probably wont be able to match due to timing with KD taking other meetings.

that said, Im sure they will overpay him.
