  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
Was very disappointed with the pick when I found out, but I looked at his videos, and am not that saddened as I was previously lol.

He seems like a better offensive scoring Boris Diaw with Draymond Green versatility on defense. He can strictly guard 4's, because of his mass, and his quickness, and can switch occasionally to help out on 1-3's at times. But he doesn't seem to have the passing vision, although, his assist to turn over ratio is pretty horrendous, but many scouts duly noted his use of fast break passing, or trying to make pin point 'fancy,' ones to quickly move the ball for perimeter shooters which I like.

If he can turn into a Boris Diaw/Draymond Green, then that would literally be a steal. Right now its a reach, only because I feel like he would still have been here at 23.

This is one of the picks where like Rozier, if it pans out, could end up being an extremely underrated player with a high ceiling.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I like the pick.
He's what we'd hoped Sully could become physcially and torches it from 3.
7'1" wingspan ain't shabby.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

It'll be fun to see opponents struggling with picks and screens set by this bloke.  Talk about running into a brick wall...

I know nothing about him except what I've read tonight, but it sounds like he started basketball in 2012 at age 16, and before that he was a boxer? Yikes. Maybe some Draymond / David West potential?

I must say I was pretty shocked we took this guy when we still had Ellenson, Davis, Beasley, Labissiere and Johnson on the clock.

But I will reserve final judgement until I've seen more of the kid.

Yeah I'm also surprised we chose him at 16
As draftexpress mocked him around early 2nd round to late first round

But I still like this pick
Just needs to get better at defensive rebounds and polish his offensive game
The guy has the physical tools and offensive upside to be a good player in the NBA

Not as explosive but has almost the same kind of body as Lebron , Draymond Green has.  More explosive than Green.

Those dunks are rim rattling. Imagine trying to stand in front of yabu and taking a charge. Might as well say goodnight 1st

I see a lot of players in this guy. He is not Sully. He has more muscle mass than Sully. If he can trim down the weight.. I see in him a lot of players that were very successful NBA players.
yes, when i watched how yabusele moves...he clearly is NOT sully. yabusele is not rooted to the ground like sully either. and he can shoot. plus his arms are REALLY LONG!

the knock on this guy is his defense. he obviously has the physical ability to play defense. so it must be his approach to it or desire.

we shall see him in green in a year or two. lets see how he is then.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Yeah, I can't wait until 2019 or 2020. Or maybe even in 2022 we can draft LeBron's son.

He tries on both ends. Plays hard and prob impressed the celts at competitive workouts

But there is a reason draymond greens dont grow out of trees and usually guys with green/yabu height/bulk have limitations to be either a lockdown perimeter or post defender.

As long as yabu tries, develops reaction time, conditioning further he can become closer to green (as a defender). Especially needs to be able to secure defensive rebounds even against giants like whiteside.   Worst case he will be a defender like Jerebko is. Avg about 7-8 rebounds per game and playing all around good D. Better offensive versatility and provide a better scoring punch

He looks like he moves much better than anybody who has been mentioned in this post.  He looks stronger than Green too.

No. Green is likely stronger

Green is top 3 in strength in the nba right now imo

Yabu at times took plays off or didnt try as hard when boxing out for defensive rebound.  Draymond green never takes a play off

Yabu is young though and overall plays with passion and energy. He just has to be consistent in the "details"

Let me just say, that I think Yabusele dunked more in those highlight video's than Sullinger has in his entire NBA career.

So let the comparisons stop at their rotund faces. Sullinger wishes he was the type of athlete Yabusele is.

Sullinger's got a vertical leap of about 6 inches off their ground.

I've been hearing over three past day that this guy is fat. He'said certainly thick but I don't see him as fat. Sullinger is fat. He looks like a dough boy. This guy looks nothing like Sullinger.
