Does this mean Ainge has already been told KD won't be heading to Beantown either this FA period or next?

If this rumor has any weight it's a clear sign KD is a no-go. Why trade the #3 for a marginal star on an expiring contract unless you plan to extend him out and build around him?

I like Crowder, he's got Celtic written all over him but this deal is an upgrade. Would this mean he would be available to land us a legit big?

Of all the deals I've seen on this board this one peaks my interests the most. Although I'm still on the "Let's build through the draft" train. Just my personal preference as a fan who enjoys new young potential. I get my rational may not sound but at least I'm being honest with the draft train.
ok fine

Not buying it. Trusting Stein's sources infinitely more.

I'm guessing that if he has told them he does not want to play there and only has one year left, they might consider something like Smart, 16 and pieces. Maybe you swap AB for Smart.
Seems better than getting nothing and letting him walk next year. And if they do go that route, I'd wait it out if I'm the Celtic. Keep my picks this year, as I don't think they're going to win it all this year, then get Haywood and use your high 17 pick next year.

Sure I'd trade the #3 for Hayward as long as he came back with the #12 and we were only giving up Johnson and Young to match salary.

We are not getting a high quality player like Hayward just for moving down 9 spots.

According to Marc Stein, the Phoenix Suns offered Utah #4 and #13 to get Hayward. (Also adding in matching salary to make it happen)

Like Boston, their offers are getting rebuffed too though. He's untouchable to them (all these articles say different things lol so not trusting them yet)

High quality but not an All-Star. That's absolutely how you move up in a draft, package players and picks to get the pick you want. Also 9 spots is a huge jump when we are talking 12 to 3.

Pick #3 would have to be included. The whole leagues knows how many picks we have and they have the leverage not us.

How about this trade:

Utah sends Gordon Hayward + Pick #12

Boston sends Amir Johnson + Pick #3 + Avery Bradley

No Bradley. Hayward is an expiring deal he isn't worth that much. Take him out and it's fair (I wouldn't mind throwing in someone like Hunter or Rozier though).

Either crowder or KO will prob go with the number 3

And we receive Hayward and the #12

Better not be Crowder.

You're not getting Hayward without the number 3 pick.

If he wants out wait until trade deadline and then pick him up.

The report didn't say that Phoenix offered the #4 and #13. It mentioned that Phoenix has those two lottery picks and kind of inferred one or both could be involved. I wouldn't assume that is the current bid.
