No.  IMO you want to maximize when Towns is in his prime, and that's when Wiggins will be in his prime, and Butler in his 30s.  Who knows what kind of player Butler will be then.  Let Towns and Wiggins grow together.

No way. I let the young core grow together, and then enjoy a chance at a title for a decade in a few years.

I'd basically use this entire year next year to determine if I already have my long term 2nd and 3rd option on the team in Lavine and Wiggins, or if I need to move on from one to get that player, all while maybe having a fun playoff push

Not at all.  Wiggins will surpass Butler before his rookie deal is out.

Put this another way, would you trade Bradley + #3 for Wiggins?

Is that a better deal for the Celtics than Bradley + #3 + ..... for Butler?

I don't see why MIN would trade Wiggins to either Boston or Chicago.

I am not one of those who thinks Wiggins is a sure-fire star or that he will definitely be better than Butler, but there is no way Minny does this (nevermind including the #5, too!). They are in excellent shape to let their players grow together. It might be time to consider moving players like Rubio and Pekovic for younger pieces, but they are in the very enviable position of having a possible decade-long dominance; why disrupt that now?

No but if I acquired Butler I would consider moving Wiggins for someone that fit with Butler a bit better.

Adding a player like Butler could push them over the hump.. Maybe they are tired of losing.
By the time that young team gets ready to make a real push in about 2 or 3 years it will  be time for them to start paying and potentially losing talent...

Adding a Butler now can get them on the Faster track.

Do you mean moving other pieces, picks on the team to fit with Butler more? The deal proposed is Wiggins and [possibly] the #5 for Butler. You can't move Wiggins again (although that would be awesome).

What type of players would mesh well with Towns and Butler that wouldn't mesh with Towns and Wiggins?

I've never seen a deal that was 5 and Wiggins, I've seen reports discussing 5 and other pieces (those pieces are not Wiggins) or Wiggins straight up, never both because that is just pure nonsense.  So if the deal was something like 5, Pekovic, and Lavine for Butler, if I'm the Wolves I might then consider moving Wiggins in a separate trade.  You know something like acquiring Blake Griffin with Wiggins as the centerpiece.

no, you use your other assets besides Wiggins and Towns to get Butler.
