Orlando has long coveted Dragan Bender who they could take at Pick #3.

Aaron Gordon + Nikola Vucevic + Pick #11

for

Amir Johnson + Avery Bradley + Pick #3

I'm not sure Orlando would bite on that deal given the rise of Aaron Gordon (or if we would) but Frank Vogel is a defensive minded coach and has an affinity toward defensive oriented players.

IMO we're giving up the most complete two way player (Bradley) in the deal plus a much coveted draft pick. Pass.

The included trade package I am not necessarily endorsing. Perhaps it is more centered on just Aaron Gordon.

Pick #3 (Dragan Bender) + Pick #16 (Denzel Valentine) + James Young

for

Aaron Gordon + Pick #11 (Jakob Poeltl)

A sure-fire way to lose in a trade is to give up the two best assets. #3 > #11 and Bradley is the best player in the deal.

Still too high. You'd have to be very high on Gordon to want to make this deal.

With all due respect, Gordon's 29% from 3 does not excite me the way it seems to interest you. I know he left college with a huge reputation but he really hasn't been much more than a solid rotation guy in the NBA. The Celtics need shooters not mediocre shooting slashers/finishers. Something like Rozier and #16 for Gordon I might think about, but I doubt that Orlando would.

I'd do that trade, though I like Vucevic a lot more than most people.

I believe Vucevic is the best player in that trade, or at the very least the most valuable.  25 year old 7' centers that can shoot foul shots and are a quality defender, rebounding, and scorer.  Those guys are much harder to find.  In fact, Vucevic averaged more points, rebounds, AND assists than Bradley.  He has better metrics such as VORP, OBPM, DBMP, BMP, etc.

Vucevic produces better than Bradley and plays at a position much harder to fill.  He is thus the best player in that trade.

You're right. My bad on that one.

It makes the trade more palatable.

I wouldn't do this one.  The one with Vucevic is the better trade.

We are back to Aaron Gordon again eh? (sigh) Many people on here were in love with him during that draft. Didn't see it than and still don't, sorry.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Celtics trade: #3 overall, #23, James Young, Kelly Olynyk

Orlando Magic trade: Victor Oladipo, #11

Then try to move #11 and #16 along with players for another piece.

Yeah, winning the dunk contest helped his PR but does nothing in terms of changing the evaluation of his true basketball skills.  You bet the guy is shooting thousands of jumpers this off-season but not sure he will improve enough to be an attractive target for the C's.  He seems to disappear at times on the floor too.
