It would be risky, but what about the third overall pick for him? He's still only 22...

Yeah there was an article suggesting Boston target Embiid, but the same reasons Boston would do it are the same reasons Philly would keep him.  Sounds like he's playing 3 on 3 now and seems to be on track to play at the start of the year.   Wildcard Rookie of the Year candidate.

How about Saric? Weren't you certain he was coming over?

Well Colangelo just announced that Embiid won't be playing in the summer league and won't say if he will be ready to play in the regular season either.  "It's only when the doctors tell me he's ready."
There is absolutely no chance that Embiid will be a rookie of the year candidate.  Even if he plays in games he is going to be on huge minutes restrictions.

No, I don't think I'd trade #3 for Saric, but I'm not Danny Ainge.

If he's healthy, I'm guessing he's way better than a wildcard for ROY. I'd put him as the odds-on favorite. Especially since now he looks like a 7'3 version of Shaq.

I expect him to have less career NBA games than Greg Oden....so, no.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.
