Wiggins wouldn't be on the table in a Butler trade. A proposed trade from the Timberwolves perspective would be more like #5, a future 1st, and a young piece like Dieng/Lavine (might be able to rescind the future 1st if Lavine is included). Butler is a very valuable asset, but Wiggins and #5 is not a viable trade package for a team in the Timberwolves situation.

It will be a steep price to get Butler so if they thought they were getting the better end of the deal then why wouldn't they want to stick it to Thibs?

There is no way the Wolves are offering Wiggins plus #5 for Butler. The Bulls would have to offer Butler plus picks to even have a shot at Wiggins. Wiggins is younger, less problematic, and more talented.

This is exactly my thinking...and no way Wiggins is involved in a trade for Butler, so...

AB is a great piece for any team to have. If the Bulls don't want him, there are plenty of other teams who would and we can bring them into the deal with additional assets going to the Bulls from that prospective team.

This would certainly be a T-Wolves thing to do—a win-now move when they have no chance of winning a title in the near future. They'd be better off, long term, sticking with Wiggins and whomever they get with the No. 5 pick.

They'd be offering some combo of #5, Shabazz, Dieng or Lavine. No chance whatsoever that Wiggins is in that deal. I doubt the Bulls are looking for Rubio, when they can draft Dunn, and moving him would affect the Wolves starting unit too much to make sense.

The tweet says bulls won't deal Butler unless Wiggins is involved. It doesn't say wolves are offering Wiggins for Butler. If Wiggins + #5 is the asking price, I doubt they have a deal.
