Any chance somebody will trade a late second round pick for him? If not, what is our best chance of unloading him on draft day? Package our last pick and Young in exchange for a dollar? Not the end of the world if he comes back as our 15th man, but it would be nice to free up some cap space...

I'd hold off. Rather see Hunter dealt than Young.

If we need to clear roster spots or clear room for a max guy, I think Young is the guy to go, but Im not going to give up on him or Hunter unless it is necessary. I think both could still turn into nice players.

Too often, we judge other groups by their worst examples while judging ourselves by our best intentions.

What conundrum? He's another Ainge draft mistake, and his value is minimal - or none.

Cut him.

Young has to be one of the worst misses in Ainge's career, though KO over Giannis is certainly questionable, too.

It kills me that we didn't take Capela with that pick. Imagine where we'd be with Capela on the roster instead of Young, i.e. not really having to worry about paying a defensive rim protector this offseason.

I was always really high on Hood and thought earlier on we would have to take him with our first pick (when it was around 9th-10th). Then we got worse and Hood's stock dropped and I was psyched we were getting Smart and Hood.

Fast forward to today and Young blows, while Hood is a productive NBA starter. I realize he doesn't fix our need for a star, but his value has got to be a lot more than Young's.

Needless to say, Capela would have been awesome, too.

I just don't understand why Young can be so good in the D League and so useless on the Cs.

Remember when Jalen Rose couldn't believe Danny picked Young and thought Gary Harriss should have been the pick.

Two seconds later we got the Simmons fist pump.

Looks like Jalen was right.

At least KO is making contributions. The same cannot be said for Young.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Picks in the mid to late first are hit or miss. I would've taken Young too and I'll admit it.

It's not for lacking ability that Young isn't making it....I watched him play several times for the Red Claws in Maine and he is actually very gifted...it's his mental make up that is lacking.  He is a zero in effort and on D...he takes awful shots and if the pressure rises he always seems to make missteps.

I'm fine if he's gone.

Hunter > Young

Trade Young for a mid first in next year's draft and call it a day.

Even Billy King and Ted Stepien wouldn't agree to that

KO was NOT a blown pick. KO is performing fine for his draft position.

Who would give up a mid-first for Young? James Young was drafted #13 and so far looks like his worst case projections, which means his value has plummeted since then.

And he was drafted 17th even!
