Nader to be stashed in the NBADL.  Reported.

"DraftExpress: #58 pick Abdel Nader from Iowa State has agreed to be stashed in the D-League next year.
2016-06-24 00:12:08"

Well it's a stash pick.  Same as Yabu.

So in round 1 we have Jaylen Brown and Zizic (-might- be stash too).
Round 2 D-Jax and Bentil.

Are we going to renounce Sullinger+Zeller or will we be able to sign&trade them for future picks?

Literally half the guys we worked out went undrafted. Did they stink up the joint that bad?

Didn't we work out like 100 players?  A lot of the workouts are practice bodies to out against the 2 or 3 kids you're actually interested in, because the higher rates players try to stay away from each other.  The practice bodies that impress get summer league and/or training camp offers.  Maybe one that knocks your socks off get picked in the 50s.

The Celtics were serious about trying to find value with the late picks.  To feel comfortable that you have found the 58th best guy, you probably have to look at a shortlist of the top 80 guys, probably more.

just noticed that memphis had picked rade zagorac with our #35...

the kid looked good from what i saw, 6'9" wing,  long and athletic with upside, can hit some 3s, he was one of the guys i liked.

Yeah I was disappointed with this. I really liked him.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

The problem is we were going to be on the clock 3, perhaps 4 times before his projected position.  Even if he really wanted Zizic, he should have been able to take Yabusele too.

On the other hand, the way this draft went you never know.

Yeah, that's the thing. Reportedly, Danny got wind last year that the Bulls wanted to pick Rozier before he could pick again, so he picked him at 16. Maybe this was a similar situation. I'm sure we'll hear more about this in the next few days.

man, "galaxy quest" was pretty great. heard they were going to make a sequel but then alan rickman died, so it's up in the air now. bummer.

One of my favourite "bad" movies ever. Tbh, I don't think they should make a sequel, it just wouldn't be the same without Rickman.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

We will probably renounce no one until a free agent or two that we need he cap room for agrees to come here.  It's unlikely that either remains a Celtic, but it keeps the option open.  A sign-and-trade is also unlikely, but maybe we could get a future protected second-rounder.

Jackson and Bentil were by far the best picks of the night, but not taking GP II at 58 is a huge mistake, imo.  As for the best of the undrafted guys, we should look into Payton, Sheldon McClellan, Danuel House, Jameel Warney, Jarrod Uthoff, Daniel Ochefu, Nick Faust, Yogi Ferrell, and Tonye Jekiri.

I imagine that Zeller will be sacrificed in a burning pit along with Kelly Olynyk and Jerebko, in order to satisfy Danny Ainge's severe hatred towards all humans who stand above 6'9".

Mickey and Sully should be safe along with Yagabagazubakdoohickey or whoever his name is that we got with #16.

I'm sure he'll trade Thomas and bradley for a 6'5" / 375 pound PF from the D-league team afterwards since both guys can shoot, and that seems to scare Danny.

I made 2 correct picks for the Celtics.  LOL.

#3 Dragan Bender 7-1 225 PF
#16  Deyonta Davis 6-10 240 PF/C
#23 Ante Zizic 6-11 240 C
#31 Thon Maker 7-1 225 PF/C
#35 Ben Bentil 6-8 229 PF
#45 Zhou Qi 7-2 C
#51 Petr Cornelie 6-11 210 PF/C
#58 Georgios Papagiannis 7-2 C

With that many big men drafted, I feel we are guaranteed to have at least 2 emerge!  About half of these guys will be draft and stash though.  We just have no roster room for all of them.

Well, him and Ryan Gomes are the only two 50+ picks we made over the last 10 years that have had some semblance of an NBA career. Moore in particular deserves credit. He was rather awful when he played for us.

This draft was such a crap shoot after one and two. I don't like the 2 pick in the first round. Love the center we took. Love the 2 round picks . All in all keep building for the future give Ainge a B.

There are also Semih Erden, Lester Hudson, Orien Greene, and Brandon Hunter. And of course the immortal Kris Clack, who at least had a cool name.
