I don't think he'll leave until next season when he can get more money , but could he sign  a 2 yr deal in Boston with an option to opt out and sign a new contract? Similar to what Lebron did in cle .

This collapse has to hurt , plus they were all giving each other the evil eye ;)

I mean, totally unlikely, but after beating the Spurs and going up 3 to 1 on GSW, this was really the only way that tiny chance could come back into play.

At least we can bring it back into conversation again without it sounding absolutely totally insane.

I think our chances of landing him just went from zero to something like 10%

.....something is better than nothing.

Durant will sign a 1 year max deal in OKC.

I don't know why people give us so little chance in signing Durant this offseason. He strikes me as a dude who wants to win, and it clearly just isn't going to work with Westbrook the way those two play. Signing a one year deal would be absolutely wasting his time.

I honestly think it's something like 50/50 now (of him leaving). They just lost this series due to the same old critique that has always been labeled on them - they choke and can't finish. Having the duo of Westbrook and Durant, I don't think they can escape that reality with this core.

We'll have to nail our pitch and have some success having players want to join KD in Boston, but I think this ultimately was an excellent catalyst to him leaving OKC. There's nothing worse than a choke job!

Right. And we'll have a chance at him in 2017 if we make the conference finals and OKC doesn't

The late collapses were killer. Donovan and the team has a tremendous hot streak, but ultimately, they couldn't get it done. Great series.
Time for Pot Roast to do his recruiting. CBS needs some talent.

  • GOT IT!!!
Unless he's tired of playing with Westbrook he'll be back at least one more season.

Another interesting point even after next year well still have another year of IT, Crowder, Smart, and Bradley all locked up. So if we made small improvements this year and saved some money we could theoretically make a run next year that would entice Durant to join us.

Durant, you will thrive in Brad Stevens system. You will enjoy playing with teammates who will pass the ball around!  ;D

You will also know what it's like to smoke LeBron James 4 times every season, and another 4 times in the playoffs!

I have a feeling KD is leaving. He deferred to his teammates for most of the game. He just wants to put the blame of losing this series onto his team, say he doesn't have enough help and use it as an excuse to leave OKC. He probably has a team he plans to go to and it isn't going to be Boston.

Honestly, I hope its the Lakers so they will end up picking Bender instead of Simmons or Ingram.

KD isn't going to win it all for us anyway,  he will help win more games, but he can't win it all.

I'm back on the bandwagon. He absolutely needs to take a meeting with Boston.   I'm not sure Westbrook and him are a good match.

Thanks, Steph.
