I don't want Oakfir.  I want Biz or Noel.  Easiest route is to just sign Biz, but if not consider Noel.

I don't want to trade Smart or Rozier, and I would prefer to hold on to Avery.  I like defense!
IT's value will probably never be higher.  I just hard for me to picture IT being a starter on a world championship team and I don't think he will accept being a microwave off the bench on said team.  Philly needs a guard - how about an all star guard?

This might be a short term loss in exchange for the greater good long term.

Ok let me have it

I am not sure this would be the right deal for IT, but I am fully onboard with exploring a trade.  IT is not a guy I want to give a big contract too.  I agree his value is really high right now, and I would be very interested in seeing what type of deal is out there for him.  Having said that, I would not make this trade if I was Boston.

For what it's worth, IT + Young for Favors works in the trade machine.  Not sure I would do that trade either, as I feel Favors, though only 25 this July, seems like a guy who has reached his peak to me.

I would love to "sell high" on IT though and I think he is the C's best non-Brooklyn pick trade piece.

I agree IT's value will probably never be higher but I have no interest in trading him for that package. You need to get more for him sorry.

IT has proven to be of the caliber of a starting guard on a championship team (backed up by his All-star status and All-NBA first team votes). Unless I'm getting back a proven All-Star I wouldn't even answer the phone for a trade conversation involving IT.

Draft picks aren't definite and there will always be one-way specialists in each draft. So it might seem ridiculous but I wouldn't even trade Crowder for that package.

If we continue to trade proven talent for unproven potential and picks, we'll never contend and always be rebuilding

Hell no.  Noel is not as good a player as IT.  IT puts points on the board. Noel can't.
If we do a package of say Sullinger (S&T), Rozier, 16, 23, for Noel, I'd consider it.

IT would make a nice 6th man/energy guy off the bench on a contender, but he's not gonna get you to the promised land as a starter. IMO he's too one dimensional of a PG, he keeps forcing the ball to the rim, until he has to be told to diversify his game, and get others involved. In the playoffs he actually had to play shooting guard. I agree, I don't think he will take going to the bench very well either.

Develop Rozier and Smart as PG's and look for another 2 or a 3 that can put some points on the board. The C's need to get athletic bigs in the paint. Noel, while not being a big time scorer will add rim protection, steals, defensive energy, size, quickness, he runs the floor well and still has more upside, he's still really young. IMO he will flourish as the starting center, without having to continually look over his shoulder at Okofor, and Embiid. Plus...Stevens will do wonders for his game.

I like it. I think it is a good deal. To get a high quality young big man like Nerlens Noel who can be a lynch-pin for this Boston Celtics for the next 8-10 years is a very good return for Isaiah Thomas. To get a useful backup SF and a draft pick on top of Noel = excellent.

I strongly disagree... Danny Green was a starting SG for multiple title winning Spurs teams and IT is vastly more skilled overall. A championship team does not need to have an All-Star at every position and a player doesn't have to excel at both offense and defense to be championship caliber either. Dirk Nowitzki, Stef Curry, Kevin Durant, Kevin Love and our own IT are monster offensive players that can be quality pieces on any championship team... depending on how it is built. So to single out IT and say he is not a championship quality PG is unfair

If you trade IT, who exactly is going to score on this team? He's the only person who can create their own shot/score (outside of Turner who is a FA)?

I don't want Noel. We have plenty of players already who cannot score the basketball.

IT is untouchable in my book.  His trade value may be very high right now, but I believe he is the face of the Celtics until we bring in more great players.  He has shown to be everything that I want someone wearing green to be...gives his all, represents the team, and willing to take the heat when things go bad.

For now, IT deserves to be a Celtic!

Buddy Hield? Kris Dunn? Jamal Murray?

Agreed.
