Congrats Avery, well deserved! How the heck does Porzingis get almost as many votes (1) for defensive team as Marcus Smart (2)??I like Porzingis and all, but its not like he lit the world on fire with his defense or anything in his rookie season.

I suppose the idea is that it's roughly democratic if you give talking heads from each city a vote. But what you end up with is a bunch of silly hometown votes.Zach Lowe, who I think is fairly impartial, had Bradley on the 2nd team, which I also think would've been fair. But it's great to see him on 1st team.

I don't buy it!
Wow, so AB was actually the third highest ranking for both total points and first place votes. That's pretty crazy. His defense against Curry and Lillard really shot him up the ladder. Well-deserved.

I don't buy it! I don't know. I have definitely watched CP3 and thought, "this might be the one guy I would least like to play against in the entire league". The guy is a ruthless competitor and he has all the physical tools. Quick, strong, pesky, relentless, amazing IQ, works the refs, true leader. I have no trouble with CP3. Who would you put above him?

AB is as close as you can get to his kryptonite (save for Westbrook, maybe).

Even in a league that unabashedly favors the offense in every possible way for entertainment value, it's still true. And Marcus Smart is thankful.

It comes with the territory when you have a Type-A elite competitor. People said the same of MJ. (edit: mj wasn't a flopper. Not on defense at least, but the game has changed)
