How would you feel if the following happened:

- Following the loss of the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals, a three-team trade is initiated that results in Cleveland obtaining Carmelo Anthony, Boston receiving Kevin Love and New York receiving the first (or second) overall pick in the draft.

- On draft day, we package some combination of picks 16, 23, 31, 45, 51 and 58 in order to secure Domantas Sabonis. We retain all 2017 and 2018 picks.

- On opening day of free agency, Kevin Durant announces the Big Three of the late 2010s will be Durant, Thomas and Love.

Key Additions: Durant, Love, Sabonis
Key Subtractions: Turner, Sullinger, Zeller

That would be a rather weak defensive team in my opinion. And I'm not too sure if I'd trade a top 2 pick for love. We see how it's going for minny after they traded love for #1. Their future looks incredibly bright. I'd keep that pick for someone better than love.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I think I'd want to keep Turner with those additions. Durant and Thomas can't play 48 minutes of ball handling. I'm iffy on whether Love is the right fit for this team but if one pick is all it takes then sure.

Kevin Love, is soft.   He does not play D, I hope we do not get him.  That lineup would convince Durant to run from us, not come to us.

All this deal does is make sure CLE wins a title.

I am so over Love.  He's good at scoring and rebounding, but doesn't fit with us defensively.  We already lack a rim protector.  If we played Love in the starting lineup, it would be too easy to score on us in the paint.  If we land Cousins... maybe Love could be a fit.  But I'd rather Cousins, knucklehead or not.

Love just got abused by Horford and KRIS HUMPHRIES. Don't want that soft guy.

So we're repeating the mistake of trading the #1 Pick for Kevin Love? No thanks.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

No way. The best and surest way to beat the East is by getting a legit Center. Cousins is the best Center in the league and with Durant we would be insane, with a great bench and still a ton of picks.

I'm one of those completely on board with trying to get Cousins but we have to trump the best offer, and since we have mostly role players it will cost a boatload . In my opinion it could cost us all three picks or two picks and crowder and smart/Bradley.

Love is a pathetic defender.

2nd was clearly offensive, and the first wasn't that impressive. We already knew Love was one of the worst defenders.

Why would we give up a top-2 pick for Love?

If the pick is in the 3-6 range, sure trade it for Love but if the C's are lucky enough to be able to grab Simmons or Ingram, you gotta take him and stick him in the starting lineup.

I also think the C's can do much better in trading their other picks than to trade up for Sabonis. For instance, if the C's land Ingram, packaging some of those other picks with a player like KO could possibly net us an upgrade in the frontcourt. I don't have anyone in mind but I just feel Sabonis is going to be at best a role playing big in the pros, a 15MPG bench back up.

I like Poetlt better, regardless of the result of the game the two players played against each other, a game, BTW, where Poetlt rarely guarded Sabonis.

I don't agree with this scenario by the OP, but I would trade a top 2 pick for Love.

*He's 27 and better than any player in this draft
*Immediate impact who is an upgrade for your roster

I don't know about his 'free agent' impact, but the team overall is far better with him on the roster.  A top 5 pick impact player at its finest.  Except you don't have to guess in the draft, you already know what type of player he is.
