Just a Hypothetical here, say the Clipper's were to trade Blake Griffin and Five unprotected firsts for Lebron.

Can you trade five picks if it's not in consecutive years. Could they take a pick every other year until 2026?

I hate Lebron but I'd love to see him try and win in the West with his little buddy Chris Paul, and I bet you Wade it Melo would join the party in LA.

I think everyone is in shock reading about the extreme overpay in your deal. Good question though - remember the Nets traded 3 years in a row, which you cannot ordinarily do, so they substituted a swap in the middle, which was allowed by the rules, so, you could probably tack on a 4th First rounder as long as it was a swap.. Don't know.

Apparently you can trade them seven years into the future.

Example cited: as of the 2013/2014 season, picks are eligible to be traded until the 2020 season.

So we could trade every other first round pick until 2023 (4 picks)
Then our seven second round picks, -1 owed to Utah, -1 owed to BK, -1 owed to OKC, -1 owed to Memphis) (+3 =7 picks total now)
+2 Nets picks (+2 = 9)
+1 76ers second rounder this year (10)
+1 Memphis pick (11)
+1 2nd round Minnesota pick (12)
+2 2nd rounders from Miami (14)
+1 2nd round pick from Detroit (15)
+1 2nd round pick from the LA Clippers (16)

So I think legally, we could trade 16 picks at once

So long as it happens on draft night, we could trade all three of our #1s this year, plus 2017, 2019, 2021, 2023 #1s, plus the Memphis #1 plus the 2018 Brooklyn pick. If you're right about nine second rounders total, I think that brings us to 18 picks total.
