Which first round exit is more disappointing:  Celts or Clippers?

Boston media is ridiculous.  Atlanta is probably the better team right now:  more talent, been together longer, and healthier than the Celts for this playoffs.

Clippers had Griffin back, CP was playing, had DeAndre Jordan whom the media clamored to get here, and of course good old Doc Rivers.

Celts had Bradley out.  KO was basically out:  bad Karma from pulling on Kevin Love's arm last year.

Of course, after decades of being "the Clippers", making the playoffs is something.  The Celts certainly have a bigger legacy pressure.

But I think the Clippers first round exit was more disappointing.

Definitely Clippers, that roster was built to win a championship, and they kinda threw all their eggs in one basket when they threw that massive contract at DeAndre Jordan. Now CP3 and Blake are done and Blake is probably leaving in FA, this has nothing been a joke to the Clips

I say Clips. I'm not certain they were going to take it fully healthy either. I'm sure their experience would have been huge and they would take it but I don't see it as forgone. They were nearly 2-2 even when both teams were healthy.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Easily Clips. They have one more year before CP3+Blake are free agents. Tick tock, tick tock...

This isn't even a discussion.

The Clippers have high-level NBA talent at several positions.

The Celtics don't.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Not even close. The Clippers expected to be in title contention.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

Clips. The idea of breaking up that trio in LA is going to get a lot of ink over the next few months, right or wrong.

Clippers and it's not close.

Clippers (if healthy) had a realistic chance of knocking out the injured Warriors and making the WCF. Meanwhile, no one is beating Cleveland in the East.

LAC

On a side note, who voted to blow up both teams? Lol I don't think we need to blow up our squad
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

TP...exactly what I was thinking as I read the replies.

The Celtics future is ahead of them...the Clippers is in the past.

...but I'm not so sure they win without the injuries.  With us, I truly felt it would be a 7-game series that we would eventually win.  Only one thing stopped that...Game 6 ;)

I actually feel really bad for the Clippers - or more specifically for Chris Paul.

CP3 has been a top 3 PG (and probably a top 10 player) in this league almost since the moment he stepped onto the court.  When Blake Griffin went down to injury / stupidity, Paul put that team on his back and carried them every step of the way - and he elevated his game so much that they barely dropped off the pace they were at when Griffin was in the lineup.

He's given his everything to that team this year, and in any other season they would have been one of the undisputed favourites.  Unfortunately he happened to take this team to it's pinnacle in a year where the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs emerged to have historical years.

Yet still, Paul kept carrying that team.  He's been a beast in the playoffs - by far one of the top 3 or 4 guys in the playoffs so far.  Maybe the best.  Then just when things were going so well - injury that exits him from the playoffs.

Paul, like Stockton, will go down in history as one of the greatest PG's to ever play the game.  He deserves to make the finals, and he deserves to win a ring.  It's very disappointing to me that he's been cheated at that chance because of an injury something out of his control.

I think it's so much sadder that the Clippers exit because Paul is reaching the end of the twighlight of his career, and it's only a matter of time before age leaves him with no option but to start declining (and his chance to win a ring along with it).

Boston lost, but we are an underdog team that nobody really expected to win AND we had major injuries AND we have an incredibly bright future.  Out elimination was disappointing, but still much to look forward to.  I feel like there isn't much of a light at the end of the tunnel for the Clippers.
