Absolutely.

It's 2007 again. We won't have assets this valuable again for a while. You have to go for it now.

Would rather not move IT in a Butler deal. You'd still be left with a single creator/initiator on the offense. Would have to find a better PG than Bradley.

The only way I'd be comfortable with this kind of deal is if Kevin Durant committed to sign with Boston.

Otherwise, adding Butler to IT should be the goal, I think.

My god butler is so overrated.

No I wouldn't do that.

But if Kevin Durant tells ainge the only way he will come to Boston is if we land butler - I trade the entire team for that overrated borderline star if that's what it takes to get him.

I like Butler a lot, but I want to add a good scorer next to Thomas, not move him for another scorer. This might be crazy but I don't think Butler is enough of an upgrade from Thomas that I want to add in multiple quality picks.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Yes

I'd like Ainge to try and trade Isaiah before he is due for another contract. I don't want to pay him max dollars in 2 years time. To get Jimmy Butler for Isaiah would be a great move. I am not overly enamored with the lotto pick (outside top 2). I am happy to move the pick and Isaiah for Butler. That is good business.

If Ainge would trade Isaiah, I'd love to go after Mike Conley or Jeff Teague in FA.

Both would work well here. And alongside Jimmy Butler in this proposal.

Egad. No. The whole point of getting Butler is to sell Durant that we are ready to win now. If you move Isaiah, you're still left with one pseudo-star in Butler. Jimmy is not that good guys. Doesn't move the needle at all, especially when you're also moving the pick. Nor does it convince KD to come here anymore than Isaiah would.

I'd say it even moves us a step or two backwards.

Put a poll on this please, triboy. I really wanna see the general consensus. I can't imagine it'd be favorable.

I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

It's not crazy at all. No offense to OP, but this is a poor trade for us. KD would not come to this team.

The point of trading our top pick with some additional picks is to add players not in our core to those picks and package those picks and players for a star like Butler, Griffin, Cousins, Love, etc. The goal,is to add a star to out starvin IT, some excellent role players and then sell that team tobanother free agent star to add to the mix.

This trade trades one star for another star, apparents gets rid of some valuable role players and then adds even more undeveloped youth to our already undeveloped youth. Those types of moves arent going to attract a superstar like Durant to come here.

This is just a bad idea

and Danny attended Turners college award night (forgot what he received)

doesn't mean Turner is coming back next season

Maybe it's , hey IT, you weren't lucky enough to get us a top 2 pick?

well pack your bags with the 3rd/4th pick

Welcome Butler

like someone said, you can always grab Conley Jr. in FA.  Or teague

I like IT alot but his defense is frustrating to watch sometimes. Also how he forces up quick shots.  It must make CBS and Ainge mad

for the Bulls I just feel they want more than picks. At least Crowder or IT , or something

And I think Crowder with his nice value contract signed until 2019 is here to stay

plus he and butler have a connection

In terms of on-court value, it's probably pretty close.

Butler scares me though.  I question why the Bulls are so eager to trade their best player.  A young star like that should be the building block you keep.  Instead they're actively shopping him, and I wonder what I don't know.

If I'm going to take a chance on a high-risk high-reward guy, I'd prefer Cousins.
