Clay was just making a joke by rehashing the other thread where LarBrd made a slight comparison of Davis to Butler. Nobody actually thinks they are equals, not even LarBrd, as he was just playing devil's advocate by noting that he didn't think Butler was a superstar.

As for Bulpett's reports, it's all sounds good to me.

Bulpett remains the best local source on the Celtics.  As far as what he said about those draft picks burning a hole in Danny's pocket it does take two to tango and I don't think there are a lot of GM's or owners in the league with the mindset to go all in on a rebuild.  And that to me is the type of dance partner you need to flip all of these picks for a star.

I think anyone expecting a deal like that is going to be really disappointed come the summer. And right now they have way too many picks given the supposed potential already on their roster.

Part of the appeal of Jimmy Butler is that he and Jae are good friends from Marquette.

As Kuberski said, there's not gonna be a ton of teams looking to start over.

Memphis? (But they don't have a young star, and gasol isn't getting younger)
Chicago? (Butler is the star, but how much do we wanna pay)
Clippers? (If they decide this core isn't getting it done)
Dallas? (Again, no young star)

Any other I'm missing?
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

If you're Chicago and you deal Butler, you're going to build your team around Derek Rose and his knee?  I doubt it.
Clippers no way.
Dallas...maybe at some point because there isn't much on their roster, but not before Cuban goes all in trying to recruit a free agent - and he will be making his own run at Durant.  So not this off season - at least I wouldn't think so.  Though they should probably consider doing it.

meh butler reminds me of rickey davis

Where did this uninformed Butler <> Davis comparison start? Their games really don't have much in common.
