If we knew Crowder was going to be this bad, would it have been better to not have played him until the playoffs, and given him at least one more week to heal?
I doubt it was injury related. His rhythm got disrupted. He finally found it at the end of game 6 but that was too late. Still it makes you wonder how depenable he will be if he can go through a drought like that. It had more to do with confidence and lack of rhythm then injury. You could feel the stress Crowder put on his shots after a while.

This thread is funny. Had Jae sat out the rest of the season and playoffs, (which would befit the normal timetable of the injury he had) then everyone would remember the type of player he was before he got hurt. However, because he tried to play injured in order to help his team people remember him negatively.

This is case in terrible recency bias. He was the best 2 way player on our team for the majority of the season, then he got hurt came back too early and played poorly on offense while his defense was still very good.

It's crazy that a player playing poorly after coming back from 4-6 week injury in 2 weeks makes him suddenly bad. There is literally no other explanation for why a guy would play great the majority of the year then play poorly after coming back from injury, other than the injury caused it.

His rhythm was disrupted because he was slowed by the injury. He didn't have the same quickness to get himself open so suddenly all his shots were much more contested. He made a bunch of shots at the end of game 6 because Atlanta's defense waned up 28 and the shots he was taking weren't contested.

He's not less dependable when healthy because an injury hampered him and slowed his movements.

Yeah, I thought this was pretty apparent.  Just watching him move around, play D, attempting to attack the basket;  he just didn't look right.

He looked great at the end of game 6 before he fouled out.

He also doesn't have the best shooting mechanics so it's not a surprise that a guy who sat out a few weeks suddenly lost his touch.

Absolutely spot on.

TP. My favorite part about this thread is the argument "well, if he was injured, then why didn't he play even worse?"
