I would be surprised if someone who liked music, any form, wasn't blown away but the amazing talent Prince possessed.  Too young.
One of the greatest guitar players I've ever seen

Such a shame, few days ago was talking with a friend of how much I would like to see Prince live, and then this happens.

RIP. Sad to see this also happen after Vanity died 2 months ago.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

sad news... amazing guitarist and performer, great songwriter. a legit cultural icon.

TMZ is reporting that he had an opiate overdose a few days before his death. a real shame if that is true...

I can confirm the following things about Prince from close observation.

He is as short as you have heard, and maybe shorter.

He dates up.

He does the weird stuff you have heard of.

He's not nice, but not mean. Kinda aloof

He dresses the way you think

He kinda has a sense of humor. Kinda

He is more shy than you think

Kinda a high pitched voice

I am a huge prince fan.  The 'the kid's run of albums from dirty mind through sign o the times was just incredible.  My friend and I used to collect his vinyl extended play singles to try and not miss out on any of his stuff (pre-internet)....The guy was a genius.  I was only able to see him in concert once.  For those of us who were really into his music, it is a really tough day.  RIP.

RIP to Prince my pops is a big fan grew up around his music that Purple Rain album is classic and timeless. Gone way too soon, you just never know what demons people are battling healthy or as fine as things may seem. Sad stuff.

A few of my friends drive to The Cities last night to take part in that impromptu dance party that started outside of First Ave (the club Prince helped make famous).  It started small, but it ended up with 1,000s of people.  I'm happy to see the city let it happen.
