Let's get this started early. Celtics peaked when Crowder was a dependable shooter and Olynyk caught fire for a stretch. Both of these guys are out of rhythm and IT can't get this done by himself. ET is put into a spot where he has to do too much. Smart can't be productive because we can't keep pace to make his defensive capabilities matter.

This team is in a whole lot of trouble if Crowder or Olynyk don't get going soon.

Could be a 4-1 and out in first round.

"IT can't get this done by himself." What has IT done? He's been just as nonexistent and horrible as Crowder and Turner during this stretch.
the Defense is easily caving on him. No one is pulling defenders off of him. He's also having to do too much cause no one is helping. Blaming IT is just wrong. He's the only dependable player we have. He just can't get any help from his teammates.

I did pick up some resentment you have for IT. You probably have a bias for Smart or someone and don't like IT.

IT is 1-9 and horrible defensively this half (though the team as a whole has) and has been pretty terrible all-around the last three games. No, blaming IT is not wrong, especially when he's our "star" and supposed leader.

I was down on IT for a long time but this year he has earned my respect, I'll admit I was wrong about him if he plays well in the playoffs. If he gets owned again he's trade bait!

He's going to get smothered again without any help.

True and the worse part is because he's so small when he gets smothered = turnovers. He has to learn not to turn it over and make stupid plays when he gets smothered.

I really hope I will be eating humble pie after this game.

We need some good vibes. This comeback is looking good.

I mean, we're better than we're playing now, but if we are in a jump shooting slump, we have literally 0 offense.  We're overachieving because of our coach and he can't coach the ball in the net.  If we don't get to at least 6 games in the 1st round, I have to think a lot of these guys will be gone.  There were a few slumps like this during this season though, so there's no reason to think we'll lose every game by 30 next week.

We need talent.  Go Raptors!  They're up by 14 right now son!

Did someone really start this topic at halftime when celts down 20?

And then disappear when they cut it to 4

Miami scored 5 points in the quarter. That is lucky. I also posted above that I would love to eat humble pie.

Ha.

The Celtics are like the Weather in New England.

Impossible to predict.

Miami scoring only 7 points in 15 minutes helps.

Cleveland and Toronto are clearly better, but we are just as good as any other team in the East.  It's just a couple of bad games.  Better to get that out of the way now than next week.

TP for your optimism bro. I was thinking the same during the Charlotte game but now I'm not so sure.

Thanks for the TP.  It's not so much optimism, but realism.  Did you really think that after 80 games, we suddenly sucked?

OK guys, good work, it looks like our reverse jinxing is working! :P

If we can keep teams to 26 points in a half we will be just fine.

Crazy game

This thread is the embodiment of the knee-jerk reactions and recency bias that is this website. We're a demarcus cousins away from being a contender. All of our guys are on amazing contracts. We're the envy of the fans of rebuilding teams (along with Minny). Ainge is God mode.

Even if we get swept we have one of the brightest futures in the NBA. Too many Debbie Downers!

I guess I started to get the feeling we overachieved
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Celts are going to be a bottom 4 seed in the playoffs and yeah, in the East, that generally means you've got no shot at making the Finals and will be lucky to win more than one game in the 1st round.

None of this affects the lottery or the Celts cap space this summer, though, so that's good.
exactly. as celtics' fans we are playing with house money now. this is free basketball and each and everyone win is to be enjoyed as much as possible.

it is the playoffs and boston has a fighting chance to not only win a few games, they might even win the series.

bring on atlanta!!!!!  ;D

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

And now that we won..... who's willing to eat crow?

IT is an immense player, even when he's not shooting well from the field he finds ways to score.  Such as from the stripe tonight.

Of course IT needs help, but he's our most talented offensive player right now, of course teams are going to focus on him.

In the end the wins are all that matter.  Here's hoping we have an excellent and exciting series against the Hawks!  Just win baby!  Go C's!!
