I think many of those potential trade partners would disagree that you could make a trade for the #3 straight up.  Also, teams over the cap must match salaries within 25%

This. If the #3 pick loses value in a top heavy draft what's the incentive for a team to trade a star for the pick straight up?

I mean I could see the Bulls doing it for Butler with their issues, and other stars being available, but it wouldn't be straight up. Truth is there's probably very little we could get straight up for #3

I think we could get some of these guys with our pick and/or the Dallas pick.

My honest bet is the Celtics will look at Kevin Love, Jimmy Butler, and Demarcus Cousins if they look at trading the Nets pick. If Danny wants Durant, he's going to need another big piece to lure him in.

I understand the post is looking for straight up options for the pick but that is not something we will look for. We need to consolidate. I think the pick will be traded.
