Will Smith formally with the Saints was shot and killed after a traffic accident, he exchanged works with the Other driver and was shot dead.

He just posted an Instagram picture from dinner a couple of hours prior. Do let your ego get in the way of your life. They already know who did it. A Shane though. Rip Will Smith..

CTE an intervening variable?
a car accident seems like an acceptable situation to display anger.

Unlikely.  Smith was rear-ended into the car in front of him, and the driver who rear-ended him shot him six times in the chest.  Another reminder that people get crazy on the roads.  Don't underestimate adrenaline, and try to keep cool.

I can't wait for self-driving cars for many reasons, but road rage is one of them.

I would severely doubt.

This was road rage and some wanna be tough guy with a gun shooting Smith in the heat of it.

Yeah, people argue after car accidents that's normal.

Sadly one of the parties had a gun in this case.

I'm a strong advocate of guns for home protection and hunting.

I think I've reached my fatigue limit for handguns outside of those circumstances absence a strict license.

especially someone who has already been cited for the illegal possession of a fire arm.

Sad and unnecessary.

A reminder, I guess, that if you get in a car accident, get to a safe place and then call the cops.  Stay in your car if possible.  Don't engage with the other driver.

It appears that Smith may have rear ended the guy and kept driving, so the other guy sped to catch up to him and then rear ended him in return, escalating the situation.

Well said.

I had several tractor trailer drivers intentionally force me off the road .  Fortunately I drive a big full sized HD Ford Van.   Why?  Because I was doing the speed limit or couple mph over.   They wanted to run 80 in a 60 Zone.    I can't afford tickets and insurance increases that the tickets bring. So...my life is threatened for using common sense and obeying the laws....ugh

Now every mini van has 300 hp , fat tires and trick suspension .   People won't obey the laws .  Do everything but think about driving.  Every year manufactures add more devices to disrupt the driving process.

We need less HP, less electronic or outlaw devices that operate and distract the driver other than a radio .

Too many vehicles to run the high speed limits east coast is a zoo and mess.....terrible amount of road rage. Everybody in a stupid big hurry .....just to kill each other?

If I'm going to risk my life at 90 mph , then I should join NASCAR and at least earn a big paycheck

Will Smith apparently had a loaded gun in his car and a witness claims he heard them arguing about guns.

I think any truck driver that causes a death should automatically get the death penalty.  Maybe they'll slow the Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. down.  and fine their company millions

Will Smith was shot once in the chest, seven times in the back

Although the man who shot and killed former Saints defensive end Will Smith is claiming self defense, the New Orleans coroner’s preliminary report says Smith was repeatedly shot in the back.

Coroner Jeffrey Rouse said today that Smith was shot eight times in all, once in the chest and seven times in the back. One bullet went through Smith’s body; the other seven were recovered from his body during the autopsy.

“These bullet tracks had entrance into the left upper back (1), left mid-back (2), left lower back (3), and left lateral chest wall (1). Many of these bullets perforated vital organs, including the lungs and heart. One of these wounds was a perforating wound, with both an entrance and an exit wound. This bullet entered the left upper back, traversed soft tissue, and exited from the right shoulder area,” the coroner’s statement said.

Cardell Hayes, who faces a second-degree murder charge in Smith’s death, may have a hard time convincing a jury that self defense required shooting Smith seven times in the back.
