Tyson wants NO part of rebuilding and therefore seems to be shouting that he wants OUT of Phoenix!!!!  He is 33, but is signed for 3 more years at a very reasonable rate IF he can give us 10, 10, and 1 block and some above average post defense.

http://espn.go.com/nba/player/stats/_/id/984/tyson-chandler

He is signed for 12.42 next year, for 13 million in 2017-2018, and 13.59 million in 2018-2019.

Pass

For Sully like stats for Sully like money over the next few years, I would rather take a chance that Sully loses weight and plays better than take the chance that Chandler will be useless as his game breaks down over the next few years.

If he gets rid of the contract he has now, I'd give him 5 million a year because of his age, if he walks fine, if he wants to still get paid come to Boston.  He was the worse signing at the money at his age for the Suns.

If he wanted no part of rebuilding why would he sign the contract?  No thanks.  I hope he rots in Phoenix.

First, Sully would have lost weight in a contract year IF he was EVER going to!!  Second, you could send Sully to Fantasy Island and he would still NEVER be the interior defender and presence that Chandler is even now at his age.  Chandler is a pro's pro, the total antithesis of Sullinger.

I doubt he foresaw Bledsoe going out for the year!!!

Really???

Games by year:  71, 75, 35, 80, 79.73. 79, 45, 51, 74, 62, 66, 55, 75, and 58 so far this year.

He was hurt in 2003-2004 with the Bulls and only played 35 games.

He only played 45 in New Orleans in 2008-2009.

He HATED being in Charlotte in 2009-2010 and only played 51 games.

Other than those three years, I would put up his games per year for a legitimate starting seven foot center up against about anyone.

Rather durable if you actually take the time to look at his entire career!!!!!!!!

Because PHX was hoping that signing Chandler would make them a serious contender to land LaMarcus Aldridge in free agency. It almost worked.

Will the Suns deal with the Celtics after the Thomas deal?

If you are the Celtics and you can get Chandler by just absorbing his salary for a 2nd rounder or something, then it is a no-brainer in my opinion - Chandler, even at a post peak age, can still provide good defensive basketball at the 5 and is locked in for what's equivalent to $7-8 million in today's terms (educated guess). So there is good value there.

I'd take 'em if other moves are made that actually put us into contention. otherwise i'm all set because at this point in his career he's essentially a role player and right now that's all our roster consists of is role players. signing him without better players here would just be a lateral move.

I would like to have him but his contract is too pricey for what he offers nowadays.

A quality 25mpg role player on a contender.
