On draft night or next year. Not necessarily for Boston. Although Most would trade the Brooklyn pick for him right?

I have one idea to write the wrong. Sign and Trade Irving for D Wade.

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
A risk that I think is a fair trade for both sides is Kyrie Irving for Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley, and '16 Mavs, and '16 Celtics with 2 2nd rounders.

They get a point guard that has been consistently healthy, and AB who can guard Steph/Klay pretty well.

It's based on your perspective, quite simply

I don't think Irving is that much better than IT, and has been injury prone.  IT and one first.

Well if they wanted a "star" for Love they will want an 1985 Larry Bird for Irving..

I don't want Irving. Taking contracts into account, I'd rather have Isaiah.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

Incorrect depending on the pick and the prospects.

I'm not a huge fan of his. He's a shoot-first, pass-second, 24 year old, high volume PG who is going to get paid about $20m a year for the next three years. Irving's stats have actually gone down in many areas since he was a rookie. Roughly, he averages (per 36) 22 points, 6 assists, 3.5 boards and 1.5 steals. Very respectable stats but...

...the Celtics already have IT at $7m a year. His per 36 this year is 24 points, 7.5 assists, 3 boards and 1.3 steals. Now I'm not saying IT is as good as Irving. Irving is the better player but for the price IT is a far better value.

The biggest issue to me is that I haven't seen much of a growth in Irving's game. Playing with Lebron and Love, I'd have expected his scoring to drop but his assists and steals to go up as he concentrated on facilitating and playing defense. That hasn't happened. At this point you have to assume he is what he is and that's all he's going to be...and if that's the case, is he a guy who is significantly better than IT in terms of leading a team to a Championship? I'm not seeing it.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

Never! Just compare our players' injuries and those 2. We have hell of a healthy squad and I would never let those 3 warriors for Cavs' players that consistantly have injury issues. Thx but no thx.

If KD was on board than OKC trading Westbrook for Irving would make a good deal of sense for both teams.

Similarly, if LA wanted to keep Blake then trading Paul for Irving would make a good deal of sense for both teams.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson

You guys seriously over value Smart. The Cavs would laugh at Ainge if he offered that package for Irving and Love.

My only hesitation is with IT but only because he's in my top 5 fav Celtics now and not because he's better than Irving because he's not.
