I voted for the Pistons and Bucks.

I thought both GMs made very realistic trades with the Sixers.

The Pistons traded Stanley Johnson who could be a future all star for Saric who seems like the perfect stretch four next to Drummond. The trade made sense for both teams.

The Bucks traded Jabari Parker who was a bad fit on the bucks for Okafor and the Lakers pick. They got another young promising player in return and a great draft pick.

I went 76ers and NYK

KeepRondo did a heck of a job with the Sixers. That team is SET for the future.
Thx. You stole Porzingis from me! I would had voted for your team third. That was a great pick up.

I'm not a big fan of the Bucks roster. There seems to be a major logjam for the bigs, and there's an incredible lack of spacing in that starting five. Middleton is the only above average shooter in that five, and Faried/Monroe don't provide the spacing needed to penetrate into the lane. Teams can just pack it in against them without worrying all that much by being burned by their outside shooting.

They probably gotta trade Monroe and add some shooters but they aren't making the playoffs this year so no big deal right now.

Agree, but I still voted for them because they have plenty of "potential shooting". I expect Jabari to become a three point threat in the future, same with S. Johnson.
They really managed to turn their center logjam into a very promising young roster with talent on nearly every position.

The other team I voted for is the pacers I think if you take their 2012 ECF team and swap hibbert for Horford while adding teague that series against the heat might have ended different.
Very good job!

Milwaukee should have 2 out of the top 8 picks in this year draft..with that saying, that's why I didn't trade for any shooters yet as I can draft 2 SG/SF in the draft...Dunn, Murry, Hield, Brown, Ingram and if I get #1-Simmons
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

  • Yup
Spurs don't make a compelling case for either category, but how many skilled trade rosters (and coaching staff) with us?
Yup

Grizzlies
C - W. Cauley-Stein, N. Jokic, J. Noah
PF - F. Kaminsky III, B. Wright, T. Booker, J. Martin
SF - W. Chandler, M. Barnes, D. McDermott
SG - B. McLemore, T. Hardaway Jr., G. Harris, J. Adams
PG - D. Exum, J. Nelson

I think I sold off all of my aging vets for young pieces and a nice lotto pick in the 2016 draft. Trading a hurt Gasol for Jefferson, Williams and Kaminsky guarantees Charlotte falls into the lottery this year and I get their pick (top 3 protected). Add to that the wealth of young talent that fits together. Kaminsky, Jokic, and Cauley-Stein makes a nice 3 man rotation at the 4/5. That covers shooting, defense and post presence. Exum, McLemore and Hardaway are all nice young guard prospects. McDermott looks like he could become a solid SF who can hit shots from anywhere on the court. I like Harris as an Avery Bradley lite. I think my chances are high for one of these guys to step up and over achieve is high. Lots of prospects locked up to test out to see who I want to build my core around plus that 2016 lotto pick. I think I set my team up for the future well.

I saw some commenting about how fun this was. You should all look into the CB Draft if people here at the blog run it this summer. Or maybe I will run it. But you get the same excitement of the trading without worrying about salaries mixed in with a draft of every player in the NBA.

Looks like a load of new blood here that could reignite this Celticsblog game institution

Man this was alot of fun. It was cool to see which teams took which direction at the trade deadline. I was teetering the line between blowing up the Pacers or going all in, thank goodness the hawks came along. I feel we both got set for our immediate goals after that swap.
