We could have gotten Kirk for a 2nd rounder? 

Not that we really needed him, but he would have been real solid off the bench.  Quality player...

I'd have hated to see Ainge give up a cost-controlled rookie 1st round draftee for a guy on his last legs.

I'd always admired Hinrich, but he's way past his prime at this point.

Considering it was a salary dump, why does Chicago do this?  They only traded Hinrich to save luxury tax dollars.  Trades can't happen just because you want them to.

It also just doesn't make sense for Boston.

Yep.  I've always really liked him also.  I would have loved to have had him on the Celtics for some playoff wars several years ago.
