Detroit WILL move up in the East standings...

They have a solid starting 5 which makes for a good - not great 6-7 man rotation. The deal for Marcus Thornton gives them firepower off the bench.

I could see them becoming #3 in the East  - because of SVG's style of play (same as Orlando 2009)

Pretty good deal for Detroit. Nothing that signficantly brings them up another level. I'd still be concerned about their defense.

For Houston, this is definitely a preliminary move. They're now down a roster spot... Perhaps setting up a 1 for 2 type of deal?

what did Detroit send to Houston?

just based on who's going to Detroit, that should help get them over the hump to lock up a playoff spot this year.

Top-8 protected, reportedly.

Anthony and a first are going to Houston.  Great deal for Detroit, adds to their young core with Montejunas and gets a good bench scorer in Thornton.

thanks for the info -- definitely a winning deal for Detroit.  they only a half game out of the playoffs and only 4.5 out of the 3 seed.  a lot of teams for them to climb to catch the C's but I think this will help them catch a few at least.

For now.. Nothing else has really happened. The next two hours could be pretty busy.

VERY nice return for Morey.

Eh. Will end up being the 20th pick or so in the draft. Wasn't DMo's stock a lot higher earlier this season?
