Boston gets :
Danilo Gallinari

Denvers gets :
Amir Johnson
2016 first round pick from Dallas
2016 first round pick from Boston
2018 first round pick from Memphis

----------

Boston gets :
Demarcus Cousins
Rajon Rondo
Marco Bellinelli

Sacramento gets :
Isaiah Thomas
Jared Sullinger
David Lee
James Young
Brooklyn 2016 First Round pick
Boston 2018 First Round Pick

EDIT : I could add Brooklyn 2018 First round pick too if needed... I could swap Young for Hunter too.

----------
PG- Rondo, Smart, Rozier
SG- Bradley, Turner, Hunter
SF- Gallinari, Crowder, Bellinelli
PF- Olynyk, Jerebko, Mickey
C- Cousins, Zeller

You lose IT scoring, but not needed with Gallo/Cousins taking the load.

Rondo is the best passer in the game and he would play with shooters from all over the floor ! It would be a perfect setting for him.

He wouldn't be a defensive downgrade from IT. Overall you doesn't lose defense, but you gain scoring and depth.

And you do something with the picks. We have way too many good players and draft picks. We have to unload them somehow.

You get a controllable core that can contend for 4-5 years together.

The other teams do the deal for obvious reasons. You got to be ready to overpay slightly to get stars.

Worse idea since mint chocolate chip cookies

You want CBS to go to a mental institution with the new roster?

Well it would be a team with attitude for sure...

I understand you hate mint chocolate chip cookie.

But what do you hate about the proposed team exactly ? I don't see any major weakness.

gross overpayment for Gallinari and underpayment to Sac.

can't see Danny or Brad wanting Rondo back after the lack of effort he made on the court after the KG-PP trade.  Love Rondo and miss watching a real pass-first PG on the team but I don't see him returning under current management.

also, you've got no one in the backcourt you want shooting FTs at the end of games.  also no real deep shooting/scoring threats in the backcourt.  sure AB and Smart have improved but neither's going to average 18+ pts a game for a season.  Rondo and Turner can't shoot 3's.

There's no beef up front now except Cousins.  teams will be moving KO and Zeller all over the court for rebounds.

I don't think the end result would be anywhere near as good as you're expecting

Three firsts and Amir is way too much for an expiring Gallo who might not even resign here. One first would be all I'd go for him. I'd love to have him but not at that price. IT Sully and 2 firsts doesn't get us that return from Sac either. On paper the squad doesn't look terrible, although I too think the rondo ship has sailed.

Gallo for Amir and the Brooklyn 2018 first

Rondo and Cousins for Lee, Sully, IT, James Young, Rozier, Brooklyn  2016, Dallas 2016, Boston 2018. Still dot think the Kings make that trade.

The Gallinari trade isn't too bad if Ainge really likes him him and thinks he will resign.  We have to trade some picks for somebody sooner or later.

The Sacramento trade is kind of a joke for Sacramento.  The best center in the league for a pile of odds and ends?  Not going to happen.

Edit: Just noticed the 2016 Brooklyn pick is included.  Not as lopsided as I first thought, but I still doubt Sacramento wants to start from scratch.

Sorry I didn't mean that the players wouldn't gel, it's a good team. I meant the chances of both deals being accepted from both sides is unlikely

Never new that sliced bread was a trade idea.

What is it that people see in bringing in Rondo and Cousins? They pretty much do what they want in Sacramento, and look where it has gotten them. Do you really think that it would be much better if they played with Bradley and KO?

Those kids would be completely blown away by the stubborn egos that Rondo and Cousins are.

Gallo is a nice player, but he needs the ball. And Rondo is not going to let him have it.

Don't get me wrong. I loved Rondo when he was here. But with hindsight, I more and more get why Ray thought Rondo was to ball-dominant.

No, the Gallo trade costs too much. Don't get me wrong, Gallo might have success in the Boston system but let's face facts:

(1) He's made of glass
(2) His contract is expiring and so even if he resigns the next one will be costly
(3) He's at his absolute peak (27)
(4) He's a defensive sieve
(5) He's a consistent but not dynamic scorer

I'm not giving up 3 #1 picks plus our best defensive interior guy on a non-guaranteed contract for someone like that.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

How about they keep Rondo and we keep IT?  And we replace KO for Amir in the Denver trade.  I think that's a much better team for us.

(1) He's made of glass
(2) His contract is expiring and so even if he resigns the next one will be costly: signed a new multi year deal last summer
(3) He's at his absolute peak (27: Putting up career numbers, just reaching peak
(4) He's a defensive sieve: not true based on the numbers
(5) He's a consistent but not dynamic scorer: 3 point shooter, drives to rim, gets to the line

I'm not giving up 3 #1 picks plus our best defensive interior guy on a non-guaranteed contract for someone like that.

a few false or debatable statements in the above, noted in bold.

not that i'd like the op's proposed trade. Amir is to important to this team and memphis pick looks like it may be worth a lot by the time we get it.

i'd do Lee, and one of sully/young/rozier plus  2016 boston and 2016 Dallas pick.
denver probably declines.
