I said it before and I will say it again. Danny Ainge is NOT facilitating a Melo-to-Cleveland deal, and giving up the 2016 nets pick, just to get Kevin Love. This is NOT HAPPENING.
Giving up the 2016 Nets pick for Love would undo all of the great things Ainge he's done these past few years.
Given the amount of potential in that pick, and the amount of risk in Love, that trade would have a reasonably high probability of going down in the history as one of the worst trades ever made.
Thats 2016 pick is a win loose for DA. Rigtht now it's looking like it's going to be pick 4 or 5. PHX is bad and going down fast, Minni is fading and Net won 2 out of the last 5 which is not good when you need them to be bad enough for a top 2. And thats were the appeal of the draft starts to get blurry or fade.
Dunn is a nice player, but we have IT,Smart,Rozier. Unless DA is going to trade our best defensive Pg or our All Star, makes no sense. Bender wont be here next year from the sound of it, so wast of pick when you need players to make a run.
So if it falls out of the top 2 and DA makes the trade, he looks good. If it brings Durant in, genius!
He doesn't make the trade and they get Simmons or Ingram, great move not making a move.
BUT, he makes the trade and the NY gets the #1, horrible trade! Danny should get fired, worst GM ever.
It's not a fun position to be in. And something to consider is Stevens contract is up in two year I believe. If DA can't give him a winning team to coach, does Stevens stay? So he might need to start building the win now team, Love could be the Allen piece to get an other player to come over. might not, but some times you have to make that move.
Now I'd rather have the 2016 or 2017 pick and see were they are at the end of the seasons. I'd rather throw NY Lee,Sully,Young, Bos 2016,2017. We are helping them out, shouldn't cost too much.
That being said, I also really like Valentine, which he's near the Dallas pick. If we could snag him with that pick, makes a #3-5 pick easier to give up.
