So I'm going to ask again. How reliable is this source?

If New York is not involved, what does Cleveland demand from us for Love?

Man, keep the news coming. One of my favorite times of year - playoff push by Cs and possible super-upgrade to the team. This could be a fun deadline.

Kevin Love + HOrford.... pipe dream scenario?  How would they fit?

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=zhl63aa

NYK also get Nets '16.  Then we get Horford for Sully + Amir + dallas 1st

I don't think that's out of the question.

fwiw, I googled Frank Isola and saw people calling him a troll.  Until Woj says anything about this it's probably a nonstory.

I really have to live through this nightmare again?!?!?!?!   Hopefully the "Ainge never makes trades we see coming" rule is in effect here.

It's apparently Frank Isola. I've seen him report quite a bit on Knicks stuff, so though it's no Woj, I think it's probably at least a little legit.

The best thing about this deal is that I'm not even sure that Carmelo would be an upgrade for them. If you think Love was not down for a lesser role, how do you think Carmelo will handle that?? Also, that just adds one more iso-heavy offensive player to that starting lineup. There's no way there are enough touches to satisfy and fully take advantage of three ball-dominant stars in Melo, Lebron, and Irving.

I was thinking the same thing about the touches, but I had a scary thought: what if the Cavs go after Howard too.

Something like Tristan Thompson and Mozgov and the Cavs 2018 first for Howard.

Now you have:

Howard
james
Melo
Smith
Irving

That would be one scary ass starting 5. Not much depth with just Delladova and Schumpert getting decent minutes, but gotta think that a lot of ring chasers sign on in the summer.

i don't like the idea of helping the Cavs at all.

Jerebko, Turner, Zeller, Nets  2016 pick for HAYWARD.

Amir, Young, Boston 2016 pick, Memphis pick for MONROE.

Lee, Sullinger, Dallas  2016, Nets 2018 for LOVE

Go for all 3 without giving up our top 5 players?  Giving up mostly expiring contracts and multiple picks. Keep 3 rookies plus right to swap with Nets in 2017?

again, the cavs in a complete and total "go for it now" mode. their only hope of a championship rides on the back of lebron, who is beginning to see the start of being merely human. how many years of super human basketball does lebron have left? 3? 4? 5? THAT is the window that motivates each and every cavalier move.

they are NOT interested in draft picks. they are interested in what they can get NOW.

I don't think it will matter. I don't see Howard or Melo playing in Cleveland. They care more about the non-basketball factors to go and play there.

So maybe we should just trade for Melo.   Grab Melo and Horford and let's see what happens.
