losing a Brooklyn pick for Howard would be terrible.  Howards pretty much a lock to leave this summer.  The best thing a trade for him would provide is a measuring stick to how close we are to being a contender when we get a star

TP - I think we could keep him if we were to pay him the most, but I agree that it would be interesting to get a stud defensive big and see just how competitive we are. Getting an additional scorer would be nice, too, but we have been putting up some decent point totals of late (and giving up quite a bit, too).

Lee, Amir, Sully, Dallas 1st, Celtics 1st, Philly 2nd, for Dwight Howard and Terrance Jones

We do not want to pay Sully longterm.
Amir is not a starting center on a championship team.
Lee is Capp filler now.
and the picks are just enough because howard isnt guarnateed to stay, and Terrance Jones is still a nice prospect moving forward.
the 3 picks we lose equal out to Jones, and they arent much when we have 8 picks.

Get it done.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
From reading over on the Houston message board, their insiders seem to indicate that Houston is looking to trade Dwight because he and his agent indicated he wanted to get the 5 year max and was looking to be traded to a team that would give him the 5 year max.

I don't think Danny is stupid enough to give Dwight the 5 year max so I don't think it will happen.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I think i'd give Dwight 5yr max. Hes a proven veteran and hes definitely someone we could build with. I know hes had injuries but hes healthy now and the best option at  C besides Demarcus Cousins and Hassan Whiteside. But wed have to keep BKN 2016 pick. Id give them the other two 1sts.

Hypothetical trade just posted to Yahoo the Vertical from  Bobby Marks - Saying the C's are the best fit because they won't have to break up their core:

Here is a look at a hypothetical trade that could work for both teams:

Houston receives
 David Lee
Jonas Jerebko
 2016 Boston first-round pick
 2016 Dallas first-round pick

Boston receives
 Dwight Howard
Montrezl Harrell

you absolutely do that deal

It's nice to know that Danny is in a position to trump pretty much anything another team offers, if he wants to.

I haven't been a big Howard guy but if that's all it takes to get him you have to do it IMO.  Adding Howard immediately puts you in the mix for ECF and Cleveland can implode at any time with that group.  I stated it earlier come next Friday I would be surprised if the C's didn't have one of Howard or Horford and I wouldn't be stunned if they got both....

Dunno if they include Harrell. If so they'll want the Minny 2nd riunders or future multiple 2nd round picks.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
