  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
If that happened, we might possibly have 3 Allstars.

I think that would be crazy. I know its a long shot, but with Durant here, honestly we would be the best team in my eyes in the East, when you compare our depth, and our coach versus the Cavs.

I still don't think the Cavs are a legit contender when you compare them against GSW, or Spurs.

If OKC cannot win it this year, it'll be very tough for them to bounce back.

Does anyone think our recent playing has at least piqued the interest of Durant?

Smart reminds me of Westbrook's intensity and hustle, although obviously hes not as good offensively, but maybe the backcourt of IT/AB/Smart, and our big depth may really make Durant consider us as a possibility.

What do you guys think?
"I bomb atomically, Socrates' philosophies and hypotheses
Can't define how I be dropping these mockeries."

Is the glass half-full or half-empty?
It's based on your perspective, quite simply
We're the same and we're not; know what I'm saying? Listen
Son, I ain't better than you, I just think different

If Horford signs here it definitely increases the chances of Durant coming here. I still see it as not very likely but with Horford it increases the attractiveness of Durant wanting to come here.

Hmm okc is floundering in the shadow of a younger golden state and consistent Spurs team.. The west is tough and getting tough. East is weak and spotty.  Perfect opportunity for due at to chase another title here.

I liked the story on RealGM about Memphis going after Durant this summer.

A Mike Conley + Kevin Durant + Marc Gasol trio would be fantastic. Durant would be a brilliant fit next to those two guys. Plus role players like Z-Bo, TA and Courtney Lee.

Talk about a well-rounded basketball team. Gasol would be a brilliant center for Durant with his high post playmaking and jump-shooting. Conley a prototypical PG who concentrates on running the team and getting his guys shots instead of calling his own number. Z-Bo as a 6th man post scorer. Courtney Lee the two way SG Durant has needed for years. TA as a defensive stopper off the bench. Durant would be the main feature on offense instead of sharing the role with Westbrook. That would be so beautiful.

I think it would have to be tempting for him.  He'd have a great coach, two other all stars, and a strong supporting cast with depth.  That's a contender right there.  There's also the 3 Brooklyn picks that will help keep the team's engine going as he reaches the downside of his career.  Basketball wise it would be a great move for him and he won't get criticized like he would if he went to GS.

Could we sign Horford and Durant to max contracts while keeping Amir?  I'm assuming ET would be gone.

The odds would still be low.  They'd go from near zero to imagineable, but still not anything probable.

I'd say:

Stay with OKC - 64%
Washington - 15%
Golden State - 14%
Celtics - 5%
Someone else - 2%

In other words, if we got Horford and got to the conference finals and Horford announced he was staying, I think KD would take Ainge's call.

Yeah, with guys like Durant it seems as if the best-case scenario is like, "we're the FIFTH most attractive destination for him!" which speaks well of our franchise but isn't much different from having the worst chance to get him.

I think if we get Horford and make it to the Eastern conference finals, Durant will give us a meeting. I'm not willing to say any more than that. IMO I think getting a meeting at all would be a huge victory.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I say odds are still low. In my opinion, Durant probably wants to be with more established stars, or at least a city he wants to go

Washington - incentives? -> hometown
OKC - incentives? -> continue to play with Westbrook, they're also playing as of late...we'll see how well they do in playoffs
GSW - incentives? -> I am hearing rumors, you guys are probably seeing the same articles, play with Steph, and possibly a team with back-to-back championships.

I see very little chance he comes to Boston even with Horford gets traded here. I'll even go as far as, even if we somehow manage to get Cousins to Boston, Durant probably still don't want to come here, unless we get like Westbrook, or possibly Melo (Melo is my own speculation, I have no proof, I am just guessing, a possible Durant and Melo pair seems good on paper)

Yes it does increase.

Two established stars.

Say to Durant "Give a list of players you would like to play with.  We will use out large bag of assets to try and add at least one of those players"

As good of a chance as the Thunder?   No.   DC?  The way that team is going, maybe.

Higher, but still closer to zero than to 1%.

I don't think he does it without taking another year in OKC first.  Too much $$$
