Horford is the closest thing I have to a binkie in this league. I would be over the moon if we could add him to this team. That said, he's turning 30, and I'm not sure it's a good idea to pay him the max for 5 years.

So, I guess it depends...on the price.

I think Horford has a lot better shot than Sully of staying healthy over the next 5 years , and it would still leave us with room to sign a max free agent while keeping our brk picks . Sully has been playing great lately , but he just scares me with how big he is , and will probably cost 10-12 mil a year to re-sign

Lee, Sully , Dallas pick, Bos 2016 pick , one of young or Hunter , maybe some 2nd rd picks

I wouldn't go much higher than that though .

IT                  / Smart
AB                 / Turner
Jae                / Jerebko
KO                / Amir
Horford         / Zeller

I like Amir off the bench to anchor the D with Zeller .

Leaves us with max space next year , and top 5 pick to add to it .

As I said, I love Horford, but I just don't know about a 5-year deal. Thankfully, it's not up to us to make this decision. If Danny is convinced it's a good deal, I have no objections.

In the end, we can't use all of our picks this year, anyway, so it's probably still a good deal even if he's only a rental.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Thing is i wouldn't even trade Sully for him.  I'd more see him as an upgrade over lee. I'd possibly deal picks for him as a rental and look at resigning him this offseason though.  I wouldnt give up much for him as far as players. Lee or Amir pretty much.

Horford would command minutes where sully would suffer.  I dont see Horford as that big an upgrade over Sully on this team to be honest.

Lee was supposed to be that and wasn't. Horford is better than Lee.

If it comes down to extending Horford or Sully it just seems like we are trading for the sake of it.  Suly is younger.  I don't like these trades. We are forcing stuff just because we have to.

Why can't Sully?  Does he have cooties?

Horford is a much better defensive player, and the road to the ECF would be easier with him as a result, but as long as Boston is 2/3/6/7 then the ECF is possible with either.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick
