You can't lose 5 in a row and 9 of 10 and get blown out in those games and go from playoff contention to out of it as a result and expect to keep your job.

What were the expectations for this team?  Melo is hurt, and he missed all of last season.  Without him healthy they are clearly a lottery team.  Lottery teams go on 5 game losing streaks and lose 9 of 10.  The Celtics lost 4 in a row only a month ago.

Put another way:  is Orlando going to fire Scott Skiles?  Because the same thing happened there.

How THibs hasn't found a job yet with all these coaches getting fired is ridiculous

Thibs is still being paid by Chicago.  An established coach like Thibs would much rather get a job in May, so he can have a say in the draft and free agency, and then have a full training camp, than have his evaluation period start with the second half of someone's mess of a season.  Aside from Cleveland, which was never going to be an option, I don't think anyone's been hired permanently for any of the positions that have opened mid-season.  I think Thibs will have his chance to interview for the job of his choosing in April and May.

Not to mention, he's willing to wait around for an actual decent team.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

There have been some rumors that some off-court stuff is involved.

Is anyone familiar with this Dart Adams guy who says:

Derek Fisher's probably sad because he had more of his ex-teammates, ex-players or current players wives & girlfriends to sleep with...

My guess is they go after Luke Walton
After the run he coached GSW
Walton seems like the top new coach

Plus he was coached by Jackson on lakers so should be familiar with triangle

NY fired fisher because they expect to be in playoffs
After getting Lopez, affalo and porzingis

Imo they are not a playoff team as their bench is still terrible and need to get a better PG

The Knicks have a star at the back end of his prime and added a number of veterans this summer.  They expected to compete.  Before the skid they were in the playoff mix, now they are totally out of it.  Fisher doesn't get along with the rest of his staff (or at least the guys that Jackson likes) and the whole Matt Barnes fiasco just won't go away.  Fisher was in over his head.  He was fine last year with the dumpster fire of a roster, but he needed to show improvement with a much better team and he just didn't.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Stay classy New York.

Dirty Laundry just flying per usual as someone leaves, wish I could say Boston doesn't do the same (especially Red Sox)
