I know that Thomas is our best player right now, but I think he isn't the solution on pg and now that he is an all star we can't really bench him.
So this would be the time to trade him when his value is at it's peak.
The Jazz could need him as they push for the playoffs.

So here is the deal:

Thomas in exchange for Hood and Lyles

It's obviously a win now move for the Jazz but if they wan't to make some noise in they playoffs they could go for it.

The Celtics would be worse short term, but Hood has tremendous potential and is averaging 20 pts over his last 10 games.

So who says no?
Memphis Grizzlies

The Celtics definitely say no. I am still a little upset Danny didn't take Hood over Young in the 2014 draft, but there is no reason to trade our best player on a great contract for two guys who will only make our rotations more confusing. This is the opposite of consolidating our roster.

Sorry if I am coming off harsh - difficult to emote correctly with written words.

Okay so you got me.. you made me laugh.

This has to be a joke, right? Why would the Celtics ever trade the best player on the roster. Don't you like winning? Don't you like entertaining basketball?

Why in the world would we ever do this?? We're not trading an all-star point guard for a 2nd year player who's had a nice stretch of games and a bench warmer averaging 4.5 and 4

More like "sell low".
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

How is this trade proposal comparable to the Crowder for Winslow?  ::)

This team would be **** without Thomas and I don't think that everybody realizes that. He is the only consistent scorer on this team, which is something that we haven't had on this team for a long time. Would be stupid to trade him.

I'm not totally against "selling high" on Isaiah -- I believe that ANYBODY on this roster has to be available for the right price.

Hood and Lyle are not within a country mile of the right price.

It's not just that Isaiah has emerged as an all-star.  He's also just (today) turned 27, which means he is just barely starting to get into his prime and we have dirt cheap control over him the next two seasons at 6.6M and 6.3M.  And you have every reason to believe that Isaiah will at a _minimum_ continue to be a consistent high-impact, 21/7 guy.  He's continuously put up numbers again and again over his whole career and he's proven to be durable.

You need to get a LOT of value in return for that.  Especially if you are giving it up for "potential".
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

Apparently it's trading proven players for potential aka tanking.
