I don't think Danny will be using those later first rounders(Celtics and Mavs) on players that will be playing for the Celtics net year. If Ainge gets a top 2 pick, suddenly he has a rotational player role taken up because Simmons and Ingram will need playing time for development. Its the same way Smart instantly became a rotational player the minute he was drafted.
I think after the Brooklyn pick, every other pick is trade fodder if they get Simmons or Ingram. Whether Danny trades themwith players for future picks or whether as part of a package to land someone, if the C's get their guy, they won't be needing all those other picks as Ainge is going to sell free agents on Stevens, Simmons or Ingram, IT, Crowder, Smart, winning environment and a deep bench to lure the free agents.
If the C's don't get a top 2 pick I expect Ainge to package every other pick in this draft in order to move up in the top 2.
Either way, I think we end up with Simmons or Ingram and no other firsts. The high 2nd rounders will be used to stash players. Remember, signing Euros can sometimes get tricky if the 1st round slot gives them future earnings less than they would get playing in Europe. Drafting stashed players in the second round allows for the ability to offer much larger contracts that the player will be happy to take over the more stringent lottery salary slots you have to pay out for if drafted in the first round.
