1st round rookie who is holding his own in his first meaningful NBA minutes?

You don't trade up for players like that. The only scenario where that type of player moves is in a rebuild package with the star player centerpiece going the other way. A handful of Miles-Turner-like players are what the Hawks and Rockets are actually shopping for right now.

The Brooklyn pick.

And I would be willing to trade Indiana the Brooklyn pick on draft day for Myles Turner if it isn't in the top 2. I think Turner has a strong case for being a better prospect than anyone else in this year's draft.

Ainge sits down with Larry and goes,

Look, Larry, I messed up.  Miles Turner should really be on our team.  If I didn't get too hung up on tinkering for marginal value, we wouldn't have made that fruitless run to the playoffs last year, and we'd have been able to draft Winslow, or probably Turner.

Can't you help a brother out and just give him to me?  We can give you Jared Sullinger.  He's fat, but uh, you know, that helps him rebound, or something.

Come onnnnnnnn.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

A time machine.  Had we tanked the last two weeks we would have had plenty of options draft day.

This. It may be the worst possible time to trade for a player like that.

I think any team would make a rookie that is playing well untouchable almost every time
Azzurri | Juventus | Boston Celtics | Kentucky Basketball
