12 million per season for another 2 and a half years. 24 years old. Just what we need.A power forward slash Center, just hitting his prime, to grow with are Young core of Thomas, Smart, Kelly, Crowder, Rozier, Mickey, Ingram lol.

What a score Favors would be for thim team. With Stevens he could be Avg 18ppg 10rpg 1.5 bpg 1.5spg. He's not far from that right now.

 Give me your best offer.

Yeah, I like me some Favors. Utah will want an expring (or non-guaranteed) deal and a Nets pick though. That 2018 pick might not be as valuable as some here think..

Bradley, Sullinger, Jerebko, 2018 Nets pick (top 4 protected)

But Utah would be foolish to trade Favors

Well Favors is a good player but he isn't a top 20 player. He is probably just outside of that though at 20-35 range. He is a lot like IT in that he can have great star like games from time to time helping you win. But some games he is just not a big factor. Based on that opinion I wouldn't go crazy to get him. C's could offer a lot of flexibility given the C's war chest. I'd go
First the Picks=Select 2 of 3
-2016 package (2016 Dallas, Philly 2nd, and Wolves picks.)
-Nets 2017
-Nets 2018

Second the Players pick
1 of Zeller or Sully
1 of  Turner or JJ
1 of Lee or AJ
1 of Rozier or Hunter

I assume Jazz go 2017 and 2018 Nets 1st for picks. Then Sully, JJ, AJ and Rozier for Favors and TBooker. That IMO is probably overpaying for Favors but sometimes it is necessary.

Regardless of what Jazz or any team wants C's at deadline need to keep the 2016 Nets pick. Keep the guard rotation of  IT, Smart and AB. Keep Crowder for that every game energy player. And finally C's need to keep KO for spacing.

Potential 9 man rotation.
IT/Smart/AB=Guard
Crowder/Turner/Young=Wing
Favors/KO/Zeller=Bigs

Not trading Brooklyn pick for Favors.

Why would the Celtics trade Isiah Thomas? Makes no sense -- the Cs have plenty of other assets to play with.

I would rather keep the Brooklyn picks and deal Isaiah.

Presumably because the Jazz are seen (by posters here at least) as needing a PG most of all.  Some people may also be waiting for IT's bubble to burst.

Why does keeping the Brooklyn pick mean dealing Isaiah? And at the end of the day what I'm asking is: why would Danny Ainge trade Isiah Thomas?

Because Ainge is getting a superior player in this deal in Favors vs Thomas.

I mostly agree but I still want protection against wining the lottery and not getting Simmons. I can live with not getting Ingram.

Doesn't make sense. Trading for Favors is a 'win soon' move. You don't trade you're best player to accomplish that when you have oodles of other options.

I am quite happy to trade Isaiah.

I don't necessarily consider him part of the next Celtics title winning team. It is possible but not absolute.

It is not like we are talking about trading a top player like a prime Paul Pierce. It is a pint-sized PG who doesn't play defense and is a selfish offensive player. A good scorer, yes, but not a top all-around / overall player.

I still view Isaiah as a 6th man type on most contenders. If Ainge can get a high level starting quality big man like Favors for Isaiah, I am happy with that deal.

Ok, I just doubt Ainge agrees with you. I'd be surprised if Isaiah doesn't make it through his current deal with the Celtics.
