Now now, I'd say they are brothers but not twins...Gay is a pretty good scorer never averaging less than 17ppg while Green had one year over 17ppg.

Gay looks like an empty stat guy.  To many teams have improved after he leaves.

No interest in Gay, i'd rather have Galo.. you have to assume the asking price for either would be similar.

ATL gets Sully and Gay
Sac gets Avery and Turner(bench depth after casspi)
BOS gets Horford

I think Atlanta wants Rudy Gay and Tyler Zeller like a fish wants a bicycle

Why not? Who is Atlanta's starting SF? Kent Bazemore!?!?! gay is huge improvement there! yes they lose horford but he is going to walk anyways most likely plus they have splitter that may be able to step up and zeller back him up OR as I suggested replace zeller with Sully

I want Horford if it means he would sign sign an extension with the Celtics. If not, Bradley is too much for half a season of him.

Wonder if Rudy being available is about cap space. If so maybe Lee, Hunter, the Dallas pick, Wolves pick, and some seconds this year could be acceptable. Then again it cuts into C's cap and Rudy isn't likely to want to come off the bench. Yet if it happened for the trade above we cant say no. With Smart, Turner, KO and Rudy the bench would be killer. The team would be very deep and prove 10 strong.
IT/Smart
AB/Turner
Crowder/Rudy
AJ/Sully
KO/Zeller

I wouldn't give up any significant value to get him, but I disagree with the idea that he couldn't be a valuable piece in the right situation.

I think he needs to operate as a small-ball 4 playing next to a big man who can cover up his weaknesses.  Use him as a more offensively-dangerous version of Thad Young.

I'd be fine with giving up, say, David Lee and the Mavs pick.  I'm not too worried about having a bunch of cap space this summer anyway, and Gay would give the Celts the piece they currently lack to have a chance at making noise in the post-season: somebody who can score when the other team shuts down IT with a talented individual defender (e.g. Iman Shumpert).
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Casspi has been playing about 30 min I assume at SF.  I further deduce that this means Gay is playing a lot of his 34 minutes at PF.  Gay has a fairly reasonable contract by today's standards ($12.4M, $13.3M, $14.3M PO).

Not sure what they would be looking for in return, a PF or a SF but it seems PF would be their more pressing need.  Amir Johnson matches up nicely for salary.  Would Amir and a future not so great pick (Dallas maybe) be enough?  We could throw in Turner who could be of help to them for some minutes as SF but then we may need to take something else back.

I would be open to Gay for the right deal.  We need what he offers, athleticism and scoring but he is not a star, just another piece.

What's curious is that Gay is posting almost identical numbers as a PF this season, except for his shooting percentage from deep -- which is 15% better.

As for defensive personnel around Gay, I think he'd slot in well between Crowder and Amir. I wonder how he'd do on offense, although I think he'd be a nice counterpart to IT. Ideally, you want Gay as a secondary or tertiary scorer, rather than focal point (like his time in Toronto).
