If push came to shove yes I would do it. People acting like losing Crowder is no big deal tho are foolish. Defenders like Crowder aren't a dime a dozen and comparing him to someone like Jeff Green is funny. Crowder took a pay cut to return to Boston and plenty of teams would love to have him.

Pay cut is pushing it... he wasn't playing this well when his contract was up, and was certainly not projecting to play this well either.

It was a good contract regardless, but I'm not sure calling it a pay cut is really all that accurate.

Is this the same Jeff Green who is a TOP FIVE SF?

I really don't get the facsination with Kevin Love. He hasn't played in the post since Minnesota. His 3-point shooting is just okay but the Cavs use him that way because they have no one else.  Oh, and he is a mediocre defender.
I don't get the fascination with Crowder.

Love for Crowder and the Celtics pick this year?????scratches head!

I will personally drive Crowder to Logan airport.  We can invite him back after the next parade.
Are you kidding me?  Crowder may be playing improved, but he is truly a role player meant to come off the bench. He starts in Boston because we do not have a true to life go to player on the wing. These are the same people that wanted to keep Al Jefferson and not trade for KG!
Celticsbloggers have a habit of falling in love with role players the same way that Danny Ainge does Chipotle.

No I've heard he was offered more by other teams and wanted to come back to Boston. Rainin' J's podcast I believe.

I really wish Sully was having a better season so that we could trade him instead of Crowder. And this is coming from someone who isn't as down on Sully as others. But yeah, if Love is available for just Crowder and a pick, then it'd need to be done.

Down on him.  I just do not think he is much more than a rebounding specialist.   I am not down on him, his performance has been bad and usually it declines more as the year wears on.   Here is hoping he can stay healthy some more.  I just do not think he is a starting caliber PF, do you?

That is not being down, that is being realistic.

Isn't that the point? He's not getting shots at his sweet spots and thus not getting to the line even 50% of what he was in Minny.
I think the fascination with Love is the 26 point 12 rebound seasons he's capable of?

I like Love as a player, but the problem is that it creates more of a log jam at the 4/5, and weakens our thinnest position.  I think the net is that it doesn't make us a better team.  If it could be something like Sully, Lee and a couple picks, maybe even our pick next year with the right to swap with the Nets, or throw in any of Hunter, Young or Rozier, I'm all for it.

Then Sully can walk. We have Olynyk for one more year. Zeller can go, so can Lee.
So Love, Olynyk and Mickey.
Not hard to thin the position with all their expiring contracts.

If you had told me a year ago, that the possibility of Crowder/Johnson, maybe a few picks could net us Kevin Love, I would tell you to stop and drop whatever you're smoking.

Do I believe Kevin Love is worth it?

Absolutely freakin' yes.

Hes literally going to be the next best thing to put next to IT.

Depends on the pick, but generally, you make that move. And the reason you hesitate is because of what that pick might become (like Simmons, for example), but not because you're giving up crowder.

Crowder will be hard to replace, for sure, but Kevin Love is an elite player at his position. The only things Crowder has over KLove are perimeter defense and physical toughness, but KLove trumps him in rebounding (offensive and defensive), shooting, shot creation, playmaking, and pretty much every other aspect of the game.

Understandable, it's what happens when one gets stuck in the past.
