That's the assumption, like same world or something. Not sure of how direct a sequel yet.

J.J. Abrams has been pretty tight-lipped about how closely, or in what way, it's connected to Cloverfield, but I'm pretty stoked to see it.

I wasn't sure that there was a link to Cloverfield other than a shared name.  anyone have any confirmation that they are indeed linked somehow?

It's sort of true - it was originally shot as an unrelated movie called "The Cellar", at some point they decided to link it to Cloverfield and do some reshoots/added material.  So it's sort of a sequel but it definitely didn't start out that way.

Cloverfield was a nightmare to watch in theaters.  Everything to do with the cinematography and very little to do with the monster.

I've been waiting for this to come out for years! I saw Cloverfield in the theaters opening weekend back in 2008. I am not sure how Cloverfield Lane connects with the original though. I liked it, but hopefully Cloverfield Lane doesn't dissappoint.

I got terrible motion sickness during Cloverfield and had to leave the theater.

This movie looks good though.

I heard about people getting sick, but since I'm a man, I toughed it out and enjoyed it.

so, during the week celebrating international women, you are saying women cant watch it or be tough?  ::)

The movie didn't make me sick, but it made it a heck of a lot harder to enjoy the film.

I'm not a fan of found-footage films anyway.
