I'm just curious if the organization will do what Philly did tonight. Recognize this farewell tour he seems to be on. Should they? Will he get cheered?

I personally say no to both. I'd leave that only to former Celtics.

I'd be very surprised if the Cs don't honor him.

Well the fans certainly will cheer him. I went to a game in Jordan's last year. Jordan the Wizard remember that? It seemed like a home game for MJ. Kobe is no MJ but I bet a ton of people who wouldn't have gone to a celtics game this year but live in boston will show up rocking Kobe shirts.

No doubt about it. Boston recognizes greatness. They have class when it's time to have class.

As a Celtics fan I say no. As a basketball fan yes. Not as big a Phili but something to show gratitude for the years and making the rivalry fun. The Phili intro was a bit much and I don't think they have even did anything like that for one of their own players in years. Kinda of excessive but he did play high school ball there so I understand.

If Kobe gifts them a win like he did in Philadelphia last night, I'm sure they'll thank him.

Even though he's a Laker, I'm guessing they'll be a solid amount of cheering for him.  Recognition of his impact on the game & the fans of Boston have always seemed pretty knowledgeable of the NBA history.

Can't stand the guy myself & think he's an utter scumbag but still respect the history of the game....even guys that played for the Celtics hated rivals.

Just look at the tribute the Red Sox put on for Jeter and the ovation he got.

I think he'll definitely be cheered and honored.  And as with Jeter/Red Sox, I think it helps that one team is at the bottom of the league and the other team isn't really a contender, and that it's also been a few years since they had a heated head-to-head match up.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Hopefully not. The guy is a smug, accused rapist who cost us a banner. Fans should rightfully be bitter and cold towards him.

Why couldn't he just announce his retirement in the off-season... SMH.

I wouldn't cry over some sort of announcement like "And one of the best players that ever played the game in his last Boston appearance, out of Lower Merion High...Kobe Bryant" but that....is....it.

No fawning. I don't feel like endorsing this guy. He's not Derek Jeter. Not by a long shot.

The biggest gratitude we could give would be to heartily boo him.  I honestly think he'd appreciate that more than cheers.

Absolutely, Kobe was a warrior. The C's respect his type of player.

After he's gone, then go back to hating.

best display of gratitude is to clamp down on his teammates and let him bomb away to the tune of a 10 for 40 night while we crush them by 30+
