Players overall are shooting 13% below their normal shooting percentage. Every area is lower against him. For a player than can handle the ball, pass, get into the paint, hit the mid-range shot, and rebound, his defense is the best part of his game so far this year.

I just wish he could hit the 3 with more consistency. As it is, he is playing the Shaun Livingston/Warriors role as a versatile, long ball-handling/defender off the bench who moves the best player off the ball.

Stevens constantly cites Turner's defensive play this year, this stat doesn't surprise me.  I am a big fan of his game.

People forget Turner was our best player last year when we went on our great streak. His versatility, familiarity, and durability are undervalued.

Hoping the Celtics can keep him on a value contract to fill the gaps as they evolve the team.

Very similar role. I noticed his defense in the first few minutes he played this year and was hoping he would keep it up.

Doesn't have great defensive tools to work with, but he does have the BBIQ required to be a decent defender.

Also with Crowder/Jerebko, he hasn't really played SF this year.  As a SG/PG, he's got size on most opponents.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

defense is contagious.  When you have a coaching staff and then a few players that make it of utmost priority to put maximum effort in, it spreads to the rest of the team.  Even Lee is ...well...not horrible...But it's really a credit to the Smart-Bradley-Crowder trio who have become leaders and everyone is trying to at least match their intensity.

Definitely been the most positive storyline of the season thus far.

Turner and Olynyk are two guys that have made a great defensive leap this season buying into the scheme.  I think they really display the emphasis this team has on forcing turnovers.
