Than Lebron.  Lebron type of body but Pippen #2 mentality.

I saw LSU vs NCS game tonight.  No doubt Simmons is going to be a nice player (all around).  But near the end of the game and OT he was not looking to take over/finish things off like a Lebron would.  He was trying to feed others  (and they were having trouble executing)

Maybe his mentality could change (increase aggression,  a talk with someone etc.) but I predict it won't.

He is likely still going #1 but I was expecting a player more like a Lebron. Anyone else?

Actually young LeBron struggled at end of games a lot like Simmons did. You have to think of that as very LeBron like. As he develops better shooting he will take more shots as LeBron does now.

Going to have to disagree with you Triboy, respectfully.

We are all crazy with comparing people.

He will be a top 10 player in the world by 25 years old.

Don't you remember that was Lebron's main criticism for ever?

I'll give up ask the Brooklyn picks for him right now.

I don't think any player should be saddled with being the "next Lebron".  Superstars of Lebron's caliber come along every 20 years or so.

At the same time, I'm not sure that the Scottie Pippen expectations are any better.  Pippen was a top-5 player who played elite defense and was very good to excellent at everything else.

Ben Simmons could have a very successful NBA career and still never approach Lebron or Pippen.

(As for the killer instinct thing, I think that gets overblown.  Lebron has been accused of the same thing, deferring too much to his teammates.  It's only in recent years that he's become regarded as a killer playoff performer.)
