Not saying that he's available or if SAC would want to give it away..

But I just wanted some thoughts if you guys would be willing to take Rudy Gay for the Celtics' own pick + [salary fill player]?

He would definitely provide some instant offense and slashing, and a small ball lineup with him and Jae as the wing players would be pretty interesting. At the very least, he would already be one of the better spot shooters on the teams.

Your thoughts?

He's garbage.  He plays no defense, every team he's left has gotten better in his absence due to his inefficiency and all the fan bases that he plays for hate him with a passion.

I wouldn't give up a second rounder for him

I would for Lee and the Celtics own 1st.

Since leaving Toronto, Gay's become a much more efficient player. He's a legit 20-point scorer every night, rebounds well for his position, and is also a decent passer. His contact isn't onerous either.

If he were a little more proficient at shooting the three, he'd be exactly the wing scorer the Celtics need. Even without that part of the game, he'd be a very good addition, I think.

Nah.

I like Rudy Gay, but I don't think he really fits on the Celts.  Doesn't improve shooting, isn't great in a heavy ball movement system, wouldn't get a lot of time at the 4, which is probably where he's best at this point.
