Thats a no brainer but I doubt they'd do it.  I also doubt they get a better offer.  I'd be sad to see Kelly go for like a day, then I'd be giddy

I voted no but was supposed to vote yes

As said before would make this trade in a heartbeat
But kings probably won't do this trade

Note I said probably - as they are still the Kings

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Everyone would do it on Celticsblog but the Kings

a) probably want at least a top 5 pick as the basis for any trade- or Marcus Smart+Dallas pick.
b) can get better offers from other teams eg Magic, Lakers, Minny, Philly and other lottery teams if they really want him.

If we want Cousins the reality is we'd need to send at least Smart and the Dallas pick.

Here's a question for you...

Would you trade Smart+ Dallas pick+ our own pick for Cousins, if it meant we got keep the Brooklyn pick?
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

id try and get mclemore back as well but mostly id try not to give the nets pick away.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

See you later Smart. Would like to keep him but it's not a deal breaker.

I'd offer them two picks, the cupboard is going to have less in it after this trade.

keeping the Nets picks is great but that leaves us with just that one pick this year and a load of seconds.  While adding Cousins is great, we still need a wing who can score and a starting-caliber PG.  I like Smart and Rozier but neither is at the level we need at this point.

This deal unloads a lot of assets when we still have to fill other holes.  All for improving the team but need to keep in mind just how many things need to be improved.

While I like Smart, I'd have to do this trade. It would leave plenty of options to also add a scoring wing, although I'm beginning to think Hunter could be that guy, and the Nets pick.
Yeah, I'd do it.

I voted no, but Maybe.
I have no problem trading any of those players...

Kings most likely say no. they will want a All-star back or at list a top -5 lottery pick,

Of course. But I think Ainge would immediately offer better than that.

Of course, but I doubt that could happen. Depends some on the 4 players I guess, but unless one is Smart I doubt it.

If we make a trade for a Cousins level player, especially at mid season when those picks still are only so clear as to where they end up, it's going to have to include one of either the 2016 Nets pick, the 2017 swap AND the 2018 Nets pick (if we don't include the '16 pick, even then I doubt they'd go for it) or Marcus Smart and a bunch of other assets.

I just don't see a way we make a trade for an all-star and we still get to keep all the Brooklyn picks and Smart. We have other pretty good assets/prospects but none of them are singularly valuable enough to be a headliner in a deal like that, and no ones looking to take 3 quarters and a dime for a dollar. Cousins is on the Kings though, so you never know.
