Ingram is apparently the next KD, which is impressive, but hes way too skinny to be considered the 2nd best player in the NBA, or 'supposedly.'

Jaylen Brown is compared as the small forward version of Westbrook, and Ben Simmons is considered the next LBJ or at least a close version of him.

The drop off isn't really that much. I love Simmons passing and athleticism, but Brown has superb defense, and is a hound on both sides of the floor, whereas Ingram has a nice shooting stroke, and seems like he just added some more weight that he could be a monster offensively.

Getting Simmons seems like the best option, but if we got any of the 3, I wouldn't be disappointed. People forget before the season started, the Nets pick was supposed to end up around early lottery pick, and I still think it'll end up around 6-10. But if the Nets do extremely bad, a top 3 pick from them is the best consolation prize as a parting gift Pierce, KG, and Terry could ever give us.

Simmons looks special. Ingram has all the ingredients if he can bulk up, but Simmons has an NBA ready body and dare I say the passing skills that only a select few (LBJ, Bird, Magic) have/had. He looks like he has what it takes to score with just an average jumper because of his handles and athleticism. Could be a game changer defensively a la Kawhi and Draymond Green.

edit: haven't watched much of Brown, but he looks like Stanley Johnson with a smoother offensive game. If he were to pan out that well, he'd be a perennial All-Star.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

There are also Skal Labissiere and Dragan Bender who are up there as top prospects in the upcoming draft.

I would also love to grab Domatas Sabonis with one of our other 1st rounders.

Focusing on SF prospects.  Not saying Danny doesn't snatch Skal in a heartbeat.

Too early to tell. Can't lose with Simmons though, Brown can't be worse than a Winslow-Johnson, and Ingram should benefit from Duke (gotta bulk up tho... those legs, geez).

Hope Bender isn't over-hyped (and a potential mistake) because of the early success Kristaps has been having, given so many were doubting him -- at the very least, "years away."

If we miss out on a SF in top 3-5, Justin Jackson could be a great pick to meet our needs. Though it looks like he's moving up some boards pretty quickly. Again, early for him... upcoming Soph., but had a heck of a 2nd half to Freshman year. He's gonna be good.

- Simmons looks like a Lebron clone
- Brown like a Stanley Johnson
- Ingram plays like a poor man KD
- Jackson reminds me of Tashayun Prince

Scoring has been so easy for Brown that he has been able to rely on straight-line drives and finishes in transition, so wondering if he can develop a solid jumper, too.. and a 3. Fine ball-handling. He could be nasty... safest of the bunch for me after Simmons. And so competitive.

Love Ingram's upside, he's just painfully thin right now. I'd want the top 5 physicians/trainers in the country's blessing on his pick. Crazy talent though, and there are scouting vids out there of him bothering guys like Brown, defensively, with his length.

Jackson has a real knack for scoring. And he's a leader ... as a Fresh, he took over UNC with Paige & co. (Paige is [dang] good, likened him to Ennis ... though Ennis left too early, but I get why) in the tourney last year.

I would be happy with any 4 of these young sfs

But Ingram and his rail thin body worries me. Look at Durant now getting injured frequently

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
We might see Ingram overtake Simmons as the consensus #1 in 6 months.  Dude is a baller.
I think that Ingram, Brown and Labissiere all have significant top 10 NBA player potential.

I also think Malik Pope might sneak into the top 10, and would be a good gamble with the Dallas pick if his knees check out the medical testing. Some real good opps to get a franchise SF in this draft.
Plenty of scorers.
I just want a scorer with a killer mentality +work ethic.

The good thing about Ingram compared to Durant is that Ingram plays at a slower pace than Durant. He also has much wider shoulders and should be able to put muscle on.
I think Ingram is more like a better shooting version of Tayshaun Prince than Durant...but in a good way.
Anyway I think he's got potential to put on muscle and his game is less stressful on his body.

Think Ingram will be the more successful college player of the pair. Ingram should have a better system at Duke than what Brown will have at Cal too highlight his strengths and mask his weaknesses. He should be able to shoot over just about anyone matched up with him in the NCAA and Brown will run into every team's athletic wing who wants to make a name for himself and tell his grandkids about the time he held Jaylen Brown to 4 for 15.

Could definetly see Brown being the better NBA player though. He's got the body type and skillset to be a stud in the open spacing of the NBA. Of the two I'm higher on Brown but I'm leaving the door open for Ingram to snatch the title of best wing after Simmons.

To answer the original question if I was to rate them as prospects 2K style I'd probably have Simmons at a 93 Brown at an 89 and Ingram an 87. Significant droppoff but you'd still be coming away with a player miles ahead of anyone we currently have on the wing.

Brown over Ingram
A fair bit drop off from Simmons but more like Lebron to carmelo
