You have to admit that would fill a couple of essential needs for us this season. Darren's a big time ball handler and playmaker and Chandler is an offensive small forward that we don't have would you make the trade.

you forget we would need to send players to match. if money matches, who are the matching players (must send at least 2).
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I'm not giving back a potential top-10 pick for two guys that make the Celtics at best a decent team in the east and would potentially be here for just one year.

How does Deron Williams fit a need? All he does is get in the way of Smart's development and take minutes away from Isaiah Thomas. More importantly, I don't want Deron Williams around our young guys. Ever.

 Lee expiring and Jonas expiring.

Wait I'm lost here seems the OP's questions is way off. Way off because I would no doubt trade the pick back for Parson but to take D-Will I would then need the pick back.

I'd trade it for Parsons, but having to take back Williams is a deal breaker

what are the conditions surrounding the Mavs pick again? And what is Deron's contract? Because right now, I'm inclined to keep the pick.

Without actually looking upnthe numbers, that's about 40 million for both of them, that's essentially half the team with Amir and Lee included.

Williams' contract is 5.3 million.  He has a player option for next year at 5.6.  Parsons is at 15.3 with a player option at 16 next year.  So basically Lee + Turner would work.

Williams can't be traded until Dec 15 though.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Edit: no I wouldn't do this deal because Parsons can be a UFA at the end of this season. We'd get 12 months of him at 75% post injury and then he could walk for nothing.

Not worth it for his RFA rights.

Second.

More importantly, Dallas isn't going to do this deal - they have basically zero risk of losing a pick higher than 8, and I'm pretty sure that they wouldn't value the #8-12 pick more than Parsons and D-Will (who Cuban's been pursuing for years).

Given that Parsons on such a short term deal I wouldn't. I mean does anyone doubt he's going to opt out? I guess he could stay to let the cap rise twice but I think he opts out and locks in another big deal.

I'd also like to seem him get through a season healthy, he was disappointing last year.

Deron Williams is absolutely horrendous I want no part of his lack luster talents. Much rather play any guard we had on our roster over having that cancer on our team.

Yeah I actually thought he had a player option in 17-18 but it's next season!

Makes the deal way less likely for us to take but more likely that Dallas would do it.
Doesn't seem much point if he can walk to the highest bidder at the end of this season.
Would rather give the same money to Barnes.
