Mavs starting to get interesting.   If Utah can catch a little fire and Sac and Houston can keep it up, Mavs have a chance to fall out of the playoffs.

Right now, #9 in the West is good for #10 in the draft.

Agree it's getting interesting.  This is why I (and a bunch of others) wanted Dallas to start the year strong.  Due to a mistrust of their staying power.  I think it's safe now to root for them to lose, but I'm still nervous about a last minute tank /injury, etc.., which they might pursue if they got down around pick 8,9.  It's still a little soon for me to want them losing each night.

I'm completely with you on this.   I think there are 5 teams that may not win 25 this year (Phiily, LA, Nets, Suns, Minny), so the Mavs only need to beat out 2 other teams among NO, Denver, Portland, Utah, Bucks, Magic....  I do think that a couple of those teams will start their own tanks in earnest soon. But I am with you that I am OK with a few more Mavs wins before I'll be full out rooting for Mavs losses.

6 through 9 are tightening up in the West.  Utah, Houston and Portland all within 2 games in the loss column to Dallas.   Rockets have the Suns tonight; Utah plays Milwaukee tomorrow; Mavs play the Spurs tomorrow.   Toronto v. Portland tonight will be a tough one for the hot Blazers.

I told myself I was giving up on tracking the Mavs pick as they kept winning such close games in a way that can't be explained, but of course that didn't last. They have vs. SAS, @ MEM and vs. Utah. They should lose 2 of those 3, and if they lose all 3 then the Jazz and Blazers could really make up some ground. I think they need to finish at 500 or a couple games below for us to get pick 12-14. Fingers crossed!

I think it's safe now to root for the Mavs to lose and lose often. They're still 3 games up from the 9 seed and I think they'd have to fall at least 3 games behind the Jazz/Blazers before they would even consider tanking.

There's a possibility this could play out exactly as we hoped.

Denver will beat Chicago now. Everything turning up roses. Denver wins go into this thread now, not the BKN thread. :)

Big game tonight in Dallas. If Utah wins, they're just one game behind for the 7th seed. Let's go Jazz!!!!   :D

Great game. Utah look good with favors out there. Crowder + 15th pick for rondo rental and powell is officially the third best deal of danny's tenure.
