Avery Bradley and Jae Crowder around trade deadline for Chandler Parsons? We send them one or two second rounders.

Who says no?

Ainge was coveting Parsons, and he was one of the few next to Hayward and Thomas of course, that was contacted in FA.

I don't see Cuban trading away his most recent big FA signing for a guy he sent out in the Rondo deal.

I don't see Dallas doing that at all, especially when we have a ton of firsts we can give them

What would be an acceptable offer for Parsons in your opinions?

That seems like a pretty good deal for Dallas, but I can see it from our perspective, too , based on need.

Maybe we can substitute Sully and Turner and keep Crowder (?)

Either way, I think we are going to get a lot of blow-back from Cs fans since the sum of our parts that we are sending out in trades is almost always going to be more than the player we are trading for.

I wouldn't. Parsons is coming off pretty micro-fracture surgery and even if he plays well, he's going to be a free agent. Crowder and Bradley are signed long term to team friendly deals and the identity they bring to our team (defense, hustle, toughness, energy) are things that can't be measured.

Like Parsons . Just don't see Dallas excited about it.

This right here^^^^^.

You can never tell with micro fracture surgery whether there will be long term damage and/or a reoccurrence. That and the fact that under the new cap the Celtics are goin to have tons I room to throw at big names because of contracts of excellent role players like Bradley and Crowder and I don't see it happening.

Parsons isn't worth his sticker price and might be a bad long term investment. Lots of risk taking him on.

Danny is goin to have to see which teams become terrible for one reason or another and might be looking to unload a star to start a rebuild. For that reason the players I see Ainge waiting around for would be Derrick Rose, DeMarcus Cousins, Paul George, Carmelo Anthony, Damian Lillard, Kevin Durant(only if OKC thinks there is zero chance of signing him), and Al Horford. Other than those guys, all you are doing is trading role players for basically slightly better role players which isn't going to net this team their next superstar.

I say no, no way. Crowder will have a breakout year, and both are better than Parson on defense.

I think it's more about what Dallas thinks is acceptable. Not being flippant here.

Had DeAndre Jordan not reneged on the Mavs, things would not look so precarious in Big D. [See the rumored consideration of pursuing Larry Sanders.] Now, their entire season, and perhaps Dirk's sunset, rides on whether Parsons and Matthews (and Deron Williams) can approach former levels of production.

I think trading Parsons would be an option for Dallas under only two scenarios: a total tear down/rebuild, perhaps even involving trading Nowitzki; or a sweetheart return that gives Dallas help elsewhere (at center, probably) without a significant dropoff at SF.

I can barely envision the first scenario. Dirk is a Mav for life, and I can't see Cubes abiding a rebuild.

The second scenario? I doubt anyone would be willing to make the kind of overpay that would make a Parsons trade palatable for Dallas.

I think Dallas has to look at other ways to strengthen the roster through trade, and hope that they stay healthy, that the aforementioned players produce, and that role players exceed expectations.

We've already seen the best from Parsons. No thanks.

Avery and Crowder have flaws and limitations but also grit youth and growth to come.

Parsons isn't that good to give up AB and Crowder.

Negative. His surgery was downplayed for a reason, and we'd be giving up two defensive stalwarts, which defense likely our bread and butter this year.

Plus, why irritate max?! No sense in that. :)
